Bottled, Leen restaurant, Utrecht. Clear yellow color, short head. Typical rice and corn aroma of a bad pale lager. Bit brackish and sharp metallic taste.

Bottle. Creamy malt aroma. Reddish amber color with small head. A rice pudding flavor - light cinnamon and nutmeg but also soy sauce. Not a great flavor - I don’t really get into the soy sauce flavor that I always seem to get from Japanese beers.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a pale golden color with a small white head. The aroma is light dry malts. The flavor is dry light malts that turn a bit bitter towards the finish. Very dry, rather bland but overall inoffensive.

500ml from Tesco. Pale gold with lasting white head. Lemon and cereal aroma. Bit of malt. Actually pretty good. Better than I was expecting, none of the usual Uckiness (techincal term). Bit too carbonated and a bit metallic, but otherwise fine, some hop bite on end.

This beer is significantly better on draft, than in a bottle IMO. A beautiful pitch black color with a little amount of off white head. The nose exudes liquorice, dark fruit, salt, plums, whisky, but surprisingly little dark chocolate characters. The dark chcolate comes out more in the bitter sweet mouth that has subtulties of dark fruit, whisky, caramel, baked cake and strawberries. Alcohol has significant presence as well. The finish is like a baked cake drenched in dark chocolate and whisky, though not overly sweet. Great stuff!

Bottled. Pale golden with a small white head. Unpleasant aroma with malt, rice and some sweetness. The flavor is mostly rice-like, with some floral hop notes. Thin body. Hope to get a chance to re-rate it some day, I don’t remember this beer to be this poor. (060413)

Wow, a pleasant surprise. Vaguely in the vienna style, if a touch light for the style. Burnt amber color, large bubbles and medium head. Aroma mostly of caramelized malts, with a touch of floral hops. Nice big caramelized palate, with an easy finish with enough hops for balance, no more. Turns out to be a nice tasting and easy drinking amber lager, with rounded caramel sweetness. A good partner to food in general, and in particular was really nice with smoked bbq ribs.
