330ml bottle @ PBF 2013

Pours dark orange with a smooth head. Aroma of sweet sticky malts, syrup, honey, yeast and goo. Taste is sweet, vinous, malty and syrupy with notes of honey, stingy grape notes, hints of yeast and grain. Finish is sticky, malty and sweet with vinous grape, honey and yeast. A bit strange and unbalanced.

Bottled at PBF. Hazy golden, small head honey and white pepper up front. Mid sweet with medium body. Meadlike slenderness with white wine. Deceptive in its drinkability. Warming finish with low bitterness.

Bottled. Clear amber, small head. Aroma of ripe apples and Pepsi Cola Fruity and somewhat medicinal with notes of chili. Peppery finish with low bitterness. With muddled flavours and evident alcohol it is more peculiar than good.

I carried this back from Paris. I believe the photo is my bottle. Very dark brown color. Hazy. Cold coffee and grain flavor. I can’t smell or taste any licorice. Unpleasant aroma of dust. Nearly flat. It sucks to haul a beer 5,000 miles and find it to taste like this.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 01/2015.

Bottle at the Deanso’s monthly RB tasting, July 2013. Poured a clear chesnut brown with no head and no carbonation at all. The aroma is pure rich alcohol. This is not black and its no IPA. It’s more like a regular cognac to be honest. This really is 24% or more. It’s not a beer IMO and hard to rate. Interesting to taste in very small quantities. I could not drink a whole bottle!
