Cask at the Beacon Hotel, 31/05/17. I was concerned about this one, had it a few years ago and remembered it being an awesome beer... nil aroma. Ruby aka cola brown. Thick beige head. Sweet and malty. Chocolate, hmmm... Ovaltine, to be precise. Thick bodied. Oily. Soft carbonation. Short finish. Body neutral - well balanced it just slips down. Superb stuff.

Cask at Prince of Wales Beer Fest, Farnborough. Strong, sour aroma. A hazy amber/toffee. A white and frothy, if sparse, head. Something along the likes of sherry. Sweet, with a sour finish. Medium bodied, sedement in the finish. Howeve it’s warming. Raisens, mulled fruit, the alcohol is there. Overall enjoyable.

Hand-pulled half-pint in The Plough, Shifnal Shropshire on 5th Nov 2015. Blonde/golden bodied beer with a good white head that produced some impressive lacing on the glass. I thought the beer a little bland, like so many single hop brews, this had a mild citrus feel to it but otherwise a bit one dimensional and uninteresting: not what I have come to expect from the Sarah-Hughes brewery at all.
