Overhang beer from the pumps at the start of the 2025 Wetherspoon Spring Beer Festival, so got a third of this included within other fest selections. Suitably deeper amber coloured to go with its oak name. Decent body, good-looking Easy enough although perhaps maybe an Autumnal style than one found in March! Nevertheless enjoyed.

Cask at Bird in Hand, Stafford. Pours golden yellow with a small foamy off-white head and good lacing. The aroma has floral hops plus hints of honey and rhubarb. In the mouth it is initially slightly bitter with a creamy texture, but this gradually increases to dominate. Flavour has floral hops, summer fruits and grains with hints of spices and tangerine coming later. Finish is slightly dry. This is reasonable.

Half-pint, shared with Finn. Good looking in the glass with its mahogany coloured body, remaining off-white head and spotty lacing. Caramel malty aromas, hints of ripe fruits. Almond and caramel malts to the taste profile offset by ripe fruits. Malt-fruity ending , bittersweet. Pleasing. (Liverpool, 12.02.2025).

Cask at Calverts Court, Stockport. Pours golden amber with a small off-white head and good lacing. There’s malts and stone fruits in the aroma. In the mouth it is quite sweet with malts and hints of floral hops, plus honey and chestnuts with medium carbonation. Some bitterness comes through later and lasts into the finish. This is decent enough.

Bottle from LCB, 6 months still in date. I wasn't a big fan of their blueberry bitter so I'm hoping this is better. Pours a mostly clear gold with swirly white top. Bready aroma with light citrus, corn and fusty flora. Taste of grainy malt, some earthiness, sweet flora, light citrus. There is a bold woody hop bitterness which elevates it nicely. Medium bodied. Yes, better than the blueberry bitter.

500ml bottle. Pours a clear gold with small white head. Aroma of blueberries with a basic malt profile. Taste is fruity blueberry with a light tang, and a sort of bitter shandy background. Light to medium bodied and decent carbonation. Good flavouring but the beer itself is a bit dull.

Cask @ Paramount, Manchester. Clear slightly deeper golden with a thick creamy-frothy head. Hoppy base but has some lovely understated winter spices to give it a favourable pudding character.

Cask @ Wetherspoon Piccadilly (a.k.a Manchester & County). Deeper golden ale with a small head. Fuller-bodied hopped brew with a sugary nose, some sugars in taste too.

Hand-pulled half-pint in my local Spoon's on 6th November 2024. Clean amber body, white topping. Fairly sweet and malty, light hop bitterness, orchard fruits and slightly 'woody'.
