Cask @ Postal Order, Blackburn. Golden with a creamy-smooth head. It's also a lovely in the palate smooth ale with an initial hint of floral-grassiness, but mainly a healthy hoppy taste to follow.

Cask @ The Boot, Burnley. Clear golden with a head. Hoppy session ale, crisp enough and easy in the palate.

Handpull cask at the Salmon, Leicester. Dark gold and clear with a small and tight slightly off-white head. Light grassy aroma, some gummy resin. Tastes sweetish with a big vegetal hit that makes it come across a bit dirty. Bitterness on the finish. Light body with very soft carbonation. Disappointing.

Cask at Bird in Hand, Stafford. Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with a small white head and good lacing. There’s a strong aroma of chewy strawberry sweets. It the mouth it is smooth and sweet, but with some underlying bitterness. Strawberries are the main flavour for some sips – but are missing from others ! There’s some malts and caramel plus hints of ginger, with lemon coming into the equation later on. Finish is slightly bitter. This is nice enough, but the strawberry seems rather artificial.

Gylden. Kritthvitt lavt skum. Stabilt. Klar og tydelig blåbæraroma. Smaken søt. En del blåbær - men også annen skogsbær. Amazing. Sparsomt med bitterhet. Ble litt endimensjonal.

Cask @ Bar 19, Blackpool. Deeper clear golden with a thick head. There’s some malty caramels turning a bit floral - so possibly at the end of its life when ordered.

20/12/2022. Cask at Hamilton Hall, Liverpool Street. Pours clear golden with a small frothy white head. Aroma was mushy, stewed blueberry, light malt and biscuit. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, soft carbonation. Not especially enjoyable. My colleagues around the table, as they tucked into their usual mainstream lager, suggested I shouldn't play Russian roulette with beers I didn't know and on this occasion I had to agree it hadn't worked well.
