(bottle, 75cl, Super des Fagnes Noel) Slightly unclear, chestnut-brown colour with a tall and beige foamy head. Sweet and yeasty toast-malty aroma with notes of caramel, restrained but slightly vinous fruity notes and a spicy touch of nutmeg. Slightly sugary sweet flavour, full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly nutty toast-malty taste with notes of caramel, dried fruits and spicy flavours; sweet and slightly bitter finish with vinous fruity and spicy notes. The alcohol is well-covered. 26.XII.11

Bottle: Chestnut-amber coloured, stable off-white head, leaving a small lace, a tinge of cinnamon and nutmeg in the dark-malty nose; moderate sweet-tart flavour, medium bodied, not extremely soft; slightly fizzy sweet-fruity finish. Yawn.....

Bottle from Bierzwerg webshop. Hazy dark brown color with huge beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, honey, nuts, biscuits. Taste, apples, malt, honey, roasted malt, walnuts. Bittersweet finish. Alcohol is well present. Good.

Deep, clear chestnut brown color, steady beige head. Strong plum aroma with kandi sugar sweetness, later sweet aromas are tuned down. Medium-bodied. Dark fruits (dates, plums, raisins) in the flavor. Some kind of tart vibe too - maybe from alcohol. Quite simple and traditional strong Belgian (dark) ale.

Bottle @ benzai, thanks thompson for sharing. Nice brown colour, but the head is quickly gone. Smells sweet, caramel and hay. Tastes sweet (in a good way this time), fresh and crispy. Bit watery though. Fizzy carbo, full body.

75 cl bottle thanks to Leo / Quark (not on ratebeer), sampled on September 17, 2011Hazy copper color, fluffy white head. Sweet, strawberry jam scent, also berries. Sweet strawberry taste. Moussy mouthfeel, low bitterness.Nice and smooth, drinkable. Cork was fast out of there though, don’t be keeping the bottle aimed for your eyes when loosening the metal straps from the cork.

75cl, corked, shared with Gnoff during Zwanze 2011 day, Moeder Lambic, Brussels. Thanks Léo for the bottle. Bière active, dès ouverture sur un bouchon qui ne s’éternise pas dans la bouteille. Couleur ambrée claire, allant sur le ton d’une confiture de fraise, col épais beige. Arôme, on y retrouve tout bonnement une sorte de purée de fraise, allant sur la confit assez sucré, même à l’arôme, rappelle le côté terreux de la fraise. En bouche, bière sucrée à la fraise, un bon profile caramel/sucré pouvant inclure une boisson soda fruitée, profile terreux avec en retrait une pointe d’amertume et houblon. Reste à savoir si cette dernière utilise des vraies fraises ou des extraits. La fraise étant assez versatile dans un usage brassicole. Similaire à la Wépionnaise, sauf que ici, je retrouve un côté plus naturel.
