Bottle bought at Tasting Barn, nr Wokingham. Aroma is malty, there's caramel, nougat. A hint of berries and eggs. Opaque dark brown. Foamy off-white head. Light-medium bitter. A tangy berry edge. Earthy. Woody. Underlying boiled veg. Medium bodied. Slick but thin. Average carbonation. Long dry astringent. It's fine but overly earthy and woody - it's like I've been out licking things in the garden.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 5 October 2021. Deep brown in colour, with a creamy, tan, head. Pleasant smokiness, with a touch of bacon sweetness, some plain chocolate and a hint of liquorice before a charred, toasty, finish. Very good.

[50cl bottle from Sheeplands Garden Centre, Hare Hatch.] An amber pour with a fast fading white head, leaving a rather flat looking appearance; sweet floral aroma, with some hay and biscuity malt; syrupy in the mouth with a grainy body and a sharp, punchy, herbal bitterness; and a trace of honey in the finish.

Cask at the Whip Inn, Laceys Green, 31/08/20. Clear golden with a decent lasting white cap. Nose is pale malts, biscuit, light honey, watermelon, grass. Taste comprises lemon rind, sweet malts, honeydew melon, grains, crackers. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light drying close. Decent enough well kept cask affair If a little short on flavour considering it’s 5%+.
