500ml bottle from Threshers. Almost black with a reddish tinge, and a light coffee head; chocolate malt aroma with perhaps a hint of port; full and chewy flavour, slightly tart, developing an intense coffee body, again with just a hint of port; leading to a burnt malt chocolate finish. Quite complex. (7/3/7/3/14=3.4 24Jul2007)

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Mahogany in colour with a tawny gleam and loose beige head; chocolate malt aroma; full bodied with some sourish fruit at first, supported by deeply roasted malts; then a strong leafy bitterness leading to s dry finish with a touch of tobacco smoke. (7/4/7/4/12=3.4 6Mar2013). Good to see my rating is consistent!
