Location: 600 ml bottle from Central Market, 6/25/13

Aroma: The nose has lots of sugar and caramel to go with the fruity and floral hops
Appearance: Pours a clear copper color with a frothy off-white head and some sticky, drippy lace
Flavor: The taste is on the sweeter side for this style, but there's enough hop balance to keep it honest
Palate: The body is medium, it has a decent stickiness, some mild heat, and a light dryness
Overall Impression: First Brazil tick, and it is a pretty good one to boot! This is one of the more sweet examples of this style that I can think of. The cane sugar definitely comes through. The hops are there as well, certainly noticeable, but maybe not quite up to the level of the sweetness. Generally, I tend to prefer less sweet beers, but still, I think this beer worked, and I can't really explain it.

Sample at the Hills Market beer tasting on 05/30/2013: This beer is a clear copper-amber color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Strings of lacing on the glass. Grapefruit, hops and malt in the nose. Medium to full body with flavors of piney hops, citrus and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Medium brown, no head. Coffee nose with coffee taste and a hint of chocolate. OK, but I can’t get past the raw, harsh, one-dimensional coffee flavour. 5

600ml bottle from Alphaville, SP, 11R$, 4.5%. Golden color with a nice stable white head. Nice design too. On the nose some malts and saaz hops. Aroma is moderately malty with a grassy saaz influence. A dusty side maybe due to de use of Mandiona flour. Taste is softly bitter and a little salty. Body is light with a sustained carbonation, texture tend to be oily, not dry. Not exactly an Urquell but has some similarities. A good pilsener from Brasil.
