600 ml bottle labeled as “Guanabara”. Deep brown color with a black center, almost no head. Aroma of cocoa, molasses, tobacco and shoe leather. Flavor is some milk chocolate, molasses, burnt sugar and some alcohol. Soft carbonation with a sugary finish. It’s good but could be better with a more full/ roasty body. A bit on the thin side watery side. Still worth a try.

Odd looking 600 ml bottle, had a date code with letters and numbers that made no sense. Dark brown in color with thick off white head that laced well. I got to admit, I don’t know what Brazil nuts taste like but this flavor is nice. Decent creamy texture on the tongue. Nuts, slight raisin notes, syrupy English toffee and hints of chocolate. I didn’t believe it was 8 percent. Simple but tasty.

Bottle at Dean’s Pale Lager tasting, Den Haag. Poured a deep mahogany with a thin broken white tan head. The aroma roasted malt and yeast. The flavour is medium to strong bitter. Full bodied with a nice boozy liqourice palate.

600 ml bottle into tulip glass, unknown bottle coding. Pours moderately hazy orange amber color with a 2 finger dense cream colored head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, lemongrass, peach, papaya, candi sugar, floral, light pine, caramel, bread, and floral earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity of hop notes with moderate malt balance; and good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, lemongrass, peach, papaya, candi sugar, floral, pine, caramel, bread, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of earthy floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, lemongrass, peach, papaya, candi sugar, caramel, bread, and floral earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and balance of hop and malt flavors; with a nice crisp hop/malt balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a lightly creamy, crisp, and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent DIPA! All around great complexity of hop flavors with a moderate malt balance; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
