Blind tasting @ home. Deep brown / black appearance with a creamy brown head. Softly roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and oatmeal in the aroma with some dark fruit tones. Somewhat creamy mouth feel. Slight acidity. Moderate plus bitterness. Mild sweetness. Earthy / coffee flavor. Smooth finish. Pretty good.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is citrus hops, with a little but of grass, and a thin bready backbone. Taste is slightly hoppy. Not very bitter. Light hops balanced with light maltiness. Not very exciting but perfectly drinkable.

The can was the best part of this beer. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a cloudy orange-caramel color with a medium sized creamy-soapy off white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was sour, tangy and industrial with notes of corn and cinnamon. The flavor was tangy, industrial and corny with a bit of cinnamon, nutmeg and yeast. Medium finish and medium body. Not good.

12oz can-thin lt tan-hazy dk amber. A-resin/herbal, med malt-cereal. T-initially not good, after being in the pint glass a bit: herbal/floral/orange hops, med malt-cereal/caramel. Enjoyable but not my style of hops.

Copper coloured body with a three centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of pale malt, yeast, wheat, tons of coriander seed and a bunch of herbs - all with a lot of yeast noticeable. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong yeast and wheatie flavours throughout with a lot of coriander seed, yeast, herbs and a pungent corn finish. Aftertaste shows more malt, yeast and wheat than anything else - strong and pungent. Overall, a decent wit with some nice spices and a very pungent herbal, yeastie and wheatie flavour throughout. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Binny’s (South Loop) in Chicago, Illinois on 21-August-2013 for US$1.67 sampled at home in Washington on 17-November-2013.

Can courtesy of Kermis. Poured a cloudy medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is hoppy with a little malt. The flavour is medium bitter with a bit zesty spice hop palate that disappears in an instant to be replaced with a watery malt finish. I could small this all night but it ultimately disappointed.

Can shared. Pours cloudy orange with an off white head. Aroma of grassy hops, caramel malt. Flavour is moderate sweet and over moderate bitter with the hops disappearing immediately and being replace with metal and banana as well as the caramel malt. Light medium bodied with soft carbonation. A bit of a weird one..
