3/7/2020. Sample courtesy of minutemat, cheers Mat! Pours almost black with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma of cookie dough ice cream, dark nutty chocolate, and a hint of chocolate orange. Medium sweetness and light roasted bitterness. Moderate body, slightly watery with average to soft carbonation. Lacks some body but not bad otherwise.

Look: opaque, near to black, moderate ivory-coloured head of average retention. Aroma: roasted and smoked malt, chocolate and coffee. Taste: rather dry, roasted. Additional smoke, coffee and chocolate, light chili burn. Palate: light body, lively carbonation. Overall: too light-bodied for its ABV. Otherwise ok.

Appearance: hazy yellow to orange with a moderate white frothy head of good retention. Aroma: citrus fruit, coconut, exotic notes. Taste: medium sweet, fruity. Citrus, coconut, light to medium ending bitterness. Palate: medium body, lively carbonation. Overall: actually OK for coconut lovers. Which I am not.

500 cl can from Mallorn - Cheers! 🍻. Creamy white head left a rocky cover on a hazy amber body. Hoppy aroma with stewed fruit & apricot. Medium to full bodied, super smooth with tingle on the back. Bitter fruit, stewed fruit, under ripe stone fruit, pine & grapefruit tastes. Not had a DIPA for ages - good one!

330ml can. Jet black colour with small to average, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Sweet-ish fruity and chocolately, minimally roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of raspberry with fruit acidic and pulpy aspects, some dark chocolate, a touch of liquorice. Taste is roasty, slightly chocolately and minimally spicy, dark malty, slightly fruity, notes of dark chocolate, some liquorice, raspberry, subtle sweet-ish hints of milk chocolate; well hidden alcohol. Viscous texture, smooth, soft and silky, slightly cloying palate, lingering sweet-ish, chocolately finish with widely disguised, residual raspberry vestiges. Nice, harmonious, not overly complex composition, liquid, raspberry flavoured dark chocolate. Good.

500ml can, either from De Moersleutel or Bierhalle DeConinck. Unclear dark colour, not quite black, small beige head. Aroma is probably the best thing about this beer, encompassing cookie dough, chocolate and vanilla. Lots of promises not kept on the palate unfortunately. Relatively thin bodied, vague chocolate / pastry flourishes with soft oatmeal, no chocolate orange notes at all. It's likeable in some respects, but not quite what it set out to be.

Can. Dark brown color. Caramel in the shy aroma. Caramel, apple and alcohol in the flavor. Slightly perfumed. Low on carbon. Lacks aroma and complexity.
