Description
We focus our attention on brewing rustic, unfiltered, aromatic beers that are approachable and unique. We pull from our home brewing background to build beers that pay homage to tradition, but break new ground in American brewing techniques and flavors by blurring the line between beer and wine. We are brewers of big ideas in very small batches.

Pours an almost clear pale golden body and a small white head with a thin layer retention. Aroma's: resinous, citrussy, light malty sweet. Retronasal: nice and hoppy without specifically being very resinous or citrussy. Fruity though, and slightly malty. Flavour is light moderate bitter and light sweet. Medium bodied. Soft carbonation. Increasing bitterness. Very pleasant WCIPA.

On tap at the Oakland Arbor. Aroma is hop forward with notes of pineapple, strawberry, grapefruit and tropical citrus. Hints of passion fruit and guava. Light cracker malt notes and hints of alcohol. Pours a somewhat hazy, straw color with a large, thick, pillowy, white head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers. Fairly high lacing and small legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with light cracker malt notes. Medium high bitterness and light alcohol notes. Moderately strong hop notes with pineapple, grapefruit pith, and dank, herbal resin notes. Lighter notes of strawberry and passion fruit. Dank, grassy resin notes longer a bit in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid IPA but not the hop profile I necessarily love. The fruity notes are nice but the dank, herbal notes aren't my favorite. Balanced malt notes, bitterness and alcohol.

On tap at Oakland Arbor. Aroma is saison fermentation, but not SARA house saison. Peppery, cloves, bubblegum, banana and some citrus. More like a hefe or a wit. Light grain notes and hints of alcohol. Pours a clear, yellow-gold color with a medium sized, thick, fluffy, white head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers on the edges. Flavor has a light sweetness and light grain notes. Medium low bitterness and faint alcohol notes. Less fermentation characteristics in the flavor than aroma but still some banana and bubblegum. Light peppery notes and hints of cloves. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an odd saison and not like any that SARA normally makes. The grain notes are nice, but the fermentation characteristics are more like that of a wit or hefe. A bit of an odd one.

On tap at the Oakland Arbor. Aroma is SARA funk forward with nice lemony notes along with some green grapes and stone fruit. Light grain note and a hint of alcohol. Pours a clear, brilliant, yellow gold with a small, moderately thick, fluffy, white head that recedes quickly to the edges where a small film lingers. Light lacing and faint legs. Flavor is slightly acidic with light grain notes. Low bitterness and faint alcohol notes. Lots of SARA funk with notes of stone fruit and green grapes dominating and lighter lemon notes. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and faint alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice expression of SARA funk. Very light with little malt, hops or bitterness letting the house fermentation notes take center stage.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle. Aroma is fairly grape forward with a lot of must notes. Lighter juicy green grape notes. Some light peppery phenolics and a slight poopy aroma. Light grain and alcohol notes. Pours a fairly clear, golden color with a medium large, thick, frothy, white head that recedes fairly quickly to a small film that lingers on the edges. No lacing and medium small legs. Flavor is slightly acidic with light grain notes. Medium low bitterness and light alcohol notes. Moderate grape notes with lighter must notes than in the aroma. Hints of phenolics and some light SARA funk. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid grape saison. The aroma is a bit too musty leading to a slight off note. The flavor is really nice and balanced though.
