Bottle from the club. Lowball @home. Clear, settled, amber gold, with an unusually thick & sturdy amount of lathery head that stuck around pour after pour. Mineral deposits left all along the bottle. Smell is an airy, macerated/browned subtle dusty sweetness. Nothing opens up as it warms. Tart & almost malic apples, sharp peach pit middle, sweet celery. Calcium, salt & lime sprinkled on newspaper finish. Boozier than 7%. A frothy, tart, whiskey sour of a cider. Very clean for a wild ferment. Good.

2018 aged bottle from the cidery. Only 6%. Mojito glass @home. Published notes say this was done as a partial petnat, when it normally isn't. Can't find my personal notes on fresh tasting. Clear, bright, MGD gold, sizzle. Smells of enriched dough, stone, straw, old pears. Very dry & bite-y upfront, English & leathery middle, fruity sweated/browned apple sweetness, tart & minerally finish that parches some. Thin carbonation, very thin body. A very fruity bittersweet that leans dry. Even though I have no physical notes, I do remember this being sweeter fresh & not up my alley at the time. 2018, Excellent.

Bottle from cider club. Two days of fridge settling. Duvel glass @ home. An oily, not quite clear gold; strong head. Smells of booze, bitter greens, yeast & core. Very tannic, very dry, with a minty edge. Pith & sharp, unripe fruit linger throughout. Strong bubbles; parching. Minerally, yeasty, if slightly wild finish(this also could come off as sweet onion if you keep rolling it around). Needs some air first. Too yeasty. Not as good as its original parts.

75cl bottle (2018) from Scrattings. Shared with Soph on a wet, windy Autumn lockdown Saturday night. Clear gold, spritzy bubbles. Aroma brings a soft green apple sweetness. Taste bears an extremely fine spritzy carbonation, dry, the wild-foraged pears seem to bring welcome delicate oily perry fruit shades that complement the apple blend. The fruitiness blossoms somewhat with additional mild gooseberry and white grape notes. Pleasant overall with a light, breezy character, mild acidity.

Bottle from the cider club. Low-ball glass @ home. Clear, dark amber, glossy with a quick-hitting fizz. Smell is boozy, macerated, peppery, burnt sugar nose. Taste is tannic, watery, zingy acidy, bitter fruit rind, slight oxidation, arugula. Good bubbles, very dry, but with a slight resin on the end if that makes sense. Pretty good. Quaffable.

Bottle delivered from the club. Low-ball glass @ home. Filtered, dark orange, pale whiskey color. Smells like honeysuckle, wood & candle smoke. Bottle description was very close. Taste is parched, tannic, rose, barrel-kissed apples, mixed in with tart, waxy, juicy, eating apples. Finishes with a lingering zing. A poor man's Albee Hill if you were to compare it to something else they make. Still, thin, runny, good acidity. This is okay, but seems like a mishaped blend.

750ml wired cork bottle from Scrattings. 2018 Vintage. 8%. Pale yellow gold colour, short-lived white foam head and aroma of caramel, fruity apple, syrupy. Taste is tart, fruity apple, some woody oak, hints of caramel and white wine notes. Medium bodied, low to light carbonation, dry slightly acidic finish. Nicely drinkable.

Bottle from Eve's direct. Wine glass @ home. Typical clear, golden, vibrant brew from Eve's. Natural yeast is great, but I'm glad they filter it out at the end. Smell is sharp apples with a mellowing touch of butter & faded spice in the background. Boldly acidic upfront. Heavy on the lemon juice, lots of skin, popsicle sticks, bitter green salad mix, lingering salt on your lips as it wraps up. Thin, ever so slightly slick texture, obviously bone dry, strong & sizzling carbonation. Really good single batch.

750ml bottle from Scrattings. 2019 Vintage. My #2000 apple cider rating. Sparkling golden colour, short-lived large white foamy head and aroma of tangy apple, citric, mellow funk, earthy. Taste is zingy sourish fleshy apple, then some vanilla, wood barrel, formic, and tangerine citric notes plus lactic salty hints, with lingering acidity and soft tannin. Slick mouthfeel, medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry zesty citric sour finish. Interesting, very drinkable.
