Description

We brouwen ons bier volgens de slogan "Beer for Thought".

Can at home. I was looking forward to this in hopes of getting at least a decent ESB out but damn was I wrong. They managed to get exactly nothing right, not the malt bill, not the yeast expression nor the hop character. Kinda amazing in a way now that I come to think about it

Can at work. Aroma’s decent, fairly popping, Nelson’s coming through alright. Flavour is not much, structure is close to nothing, finish fades into nothing, tastes like senseless pH correction with lactic acid, reminds me of a hop soda.

Can @ Gunnfryd megaticker party . Black body under a very small brown head. Aroma is chocolate, moderate roasted malt, caramel, oak and spicy cookie. Taste is sweet malt, chocolate, spices, some wood and a moderate level of cake. Full body with long lasting aftertaste. Not bad for a pastry stout.

330 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with full tan head. Aromas of chocolate, red berries, vanilla, and slick roasted malts. Flavors of chocolate, Neapolitan ice cream, thin vanilla, and oily roasted malts. Quite sweet though I supposed it’s as advertised. Nice enough.

330 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with short fizzy tan head. Aromas of salted caramel, soft oak, dark fruit, and soft toasty malts. Flavors follow same with emphasis on salted caramel and a bit more oak to help the balance. The salted caramel really masks the underlying barley wine but a very good “desert” beer nonetheless.

C: coppery, light hazy.
A: dried fruits, honey, leaves, raisins, spicy, citrus.
T: full malty base, tangerines, raisins, honey, bit herbal, nice balanced bitterness, peach, decent bitterness, bit more on the sweet side yet good for the style, enjoyed for sure.
