Shortts Farm, Thorndon, IP23 7LS, England
Description
After approaching my family about the idea of setting up a micro-brewery on the family farm we started to get our plan together. We spent a year learning, researching, volunteering and sampling beers from all over and took the plunge in 2012 to return to Suffolk and make the dream a reality.

Matt Hammond originally founded the brewery as Shortts Farm Brewery but dropped Farm from the brewery name in 2015.

Cask at the Coach & Horses in Norwich shortly after visiting the Cathedral in the city centre. Not quite black as there's still a glow evident, with a small off-white head. It's very light roasted giving it a fine mild styling in both aroma and taste.

Cask pulled half at the King's Head, Norwich. Nice atmospheric venue in an equally nice atmospheric city centre for this black coloured brew with a thin head. A sweet stout, with this certainly subduing its roasted elements.

Cask at Dove Street Inn, Ipswich. Aroma is malty with a hint of spice. Clear light brown. Translucent white bubbly head soon recedes. Medium bitter sour tinged Underlying malty sweetness then flows through. Flat-average carbonation. Long dry finish. Pleasent if unexciting.
