The Kern River Brewing Company is a privately owned “S” Corporation and is managed by a three-member board of directors. The business of the company is the production of fresh high-quality beer and food in a fun, comfortable environment. Kyle Smith, Eric Giddens and Rebecca Giddens make up the perfect combination to do just that.

Tap at Harry’s in Redwood City. Massive tropical aroma. Slighly hazy tinged yellow with solid white head that slowly fades. Flavor doesn’t quite live up to the robustness of the aroma, but a very solid beer.

From Harry’s. Beautiful aroma that really fell off on the flavor. Became rather roasty and ashy.

Tap at Pita Kabob in Visalia. Not too bad for a pumpkin offering, the spice is slightly restrained. Orange and clear with moderate low off-white head.

On draft at Caps & Taps. It pours a clear golden color wit a nice off white head. The aroma has passionfruit, lighter notes of grapefruit and some lightly toasted malt. The flavor has the same grapefruit and big passionfruit. Solid toasted malt with a very creamy, oily mouth feel, but dry on the palate. Medium spicy bitterness. A great West Coast IIPA.

Draft at Kern River last winter. Notes were on my phone along with Think Tank #8 and #9 which I am not adding since it was long ago and no one else added them. Nose is big expresso, very roasty, making me think it might keep some people awake all night. Black with a big heavy lacing cinnamon tan head. Flavor is quad shots of expresso with a little bitterness.

Tap at Cap Tap. Pours dark brown with a tan head and orange glints. Aroma is mildly hoppy with malt. Near med body. Flavor is roasty malt with some mixed hop. Not dry, but more bitter by far than the "typical" amber. It’s bitter enough to drink nicely.

Tap at The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours really hazy gold with a foamy off-white head. Aroma suggests pale stone fruit. Med body. Flavor is fresh, light prunus fruits. Bitter. Maybe a pine note with time. mostly fruit tho. Dry. Bitter. Good. Very. A delite to drink.
