Description
Speyside Brewery is based in Moray Speyside, the heart of Scotland's malt whisky country. More than 50 distilleries are within a 30-mile radius of the brewery, using the same water for their iconic whiskies that we use to make our beer.
Founded by chemistry student Seb Jones in November 2012, the brewery produces a varied core range of beers - named after local
icons - as well as popular seasonal beers. We are proud to make them.
Brewery closed in 2020. Relaunched in Summer 2023 with a different beer lineup.

Keg at Union Square. It pours dark deep brown with a small beige head. The aroma is soft, sweet, toothy, caramelised bananas, toffee, banana split, earthy, toasty grain and brown bread. The taste is soft, sweet, oily, brown bruised bananas, banana split, toasty grain, earth, woody, leather, brown bread and dull toffee with a slick finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not quite what I was expecting. Meh.

Bottle. Golden color. Whisky aroma, but also blackcurrant, dust and cardboard. Has oxidated too Much. Oxidated flavor with strong whisky notes, but also oak, blackcurrant, raisin, dust, maybe Some Remaining hops. Hops have faded. Just an example of misuse of oak aging.

Bottle 33 cl. Clear golden with a small white head. Malty, grainy aroma. Medium body, sweet malts, underlying metallic tinge. Little high in carbonation. Not really your standard, crispy Lager. 010819

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear deep golden, lacing white head. Subtle fruity hops. Medium body, strange note of smoke. Has a metallic note and again this odd sulphur edge that seems to be in several of their beers. Others may not find it troubling though. 250719

Botle 33 cl. Golden with a slight haze and a small white. Fruity, pleasant hop aroma. Medium body, dry fruitiness, massive bitterness, but there is again this soapy edge, that seems to be in more Speyside beers. Hard to describe and others may not notice. 260719

Bottle 33 Hazy golden with a rich and lacing white head. Subtle citrus aroma Medium body, sweetish fruitiness. Subtle bitterness. Surely doesn't have an awful lot NEIPA character. 300719
