Description
Odyssey is a small family run brewery established in the rural surrounds of a National Trust estate in Herefordshire in 2014. We brew in a building that is at least 400 years old but our beers are modern and forward looking.

Because we are small, independent and committed to staying that way, we focus primarily on only two styles of beer - hop forward (of any colour) and big, indulgent stouts, with the occasional Barley Wine thrown in for good measure. Our hoppy beers are unfined and hazy but we seek to retain some bitterness and drinkability - East Coast brews with a West Coast vibe.

All of our beer is produced for keg or can.

Bottle. O’Briens online shop. Soft haze on a pale gold. Fine ring of white. Nose has lemony mineral. Sliced dessert apple. Oak. Some spirit. Faint whiff of smoke. Taste is dry and lightly tart. Some apple sweetness. Crisp and light on the palate. Touch of acidity. Dry and crisp finish. Not getting much barrel character but it’s an easy drinking affair.

Bottle big thanks to Kenny. It pours hazy greenish - yellow with a fizzy white head. The aroma is sweet, juicy, tart, tangy, zing, barnyard, funk, musty, brett, sour apple, pear skin, vinous, white wine, then it's smokey, medicinal, classic Laphroaig accents and dry oak. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, tart, puckering, light tannin, apple skin, granny smith apple, white grape, pear, vinous, gooseberry, sherbet, refreshers, lemon peel, warming and woody, initially the smoke is mellow then it ramps up, medicinal, tannin, hay and light spice with a drying, oaky finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Love it. Beer, cider, funk and Laphroaig. What's not to like? Exceptional.

440ml can from Sophie's Beerstore: Drank at home on 22nd Feb 2021. Hazy light yellow body, large white head; this beer wanted to get out of the can. Tropical fruit nose and taste, preferred the 'My Country' I had before this.

440ml can from Sophie's Beerstore: Drank at home on 22nd Feb 2021. Cloudy yellow, huge white head; this beer couldn't wait to leave it's vessel and get into my glass (a UK pint sleeve). Fruity nose and taste, semi-bitter citrus/tropical front to both. Soft and mellow feel to the body, almost 'Dank' in fact.

440ml can delivered from the Two-Tailed Lion in Leicester. Light yellow and clear with a ring of white head. Pineapple aroma, some grapefruit. A light mothbaly must. The taste is a lot more straightforward: bittersweet scattered with grapefruity hops, turning much more bitter in the finish. Light body with tight carbonation. Excellent. I wish I had four of these.

Can shared in London - cheers! Pours lightly cloudy orange-gold with a creamy, white head. Flavour holds rich pale malts, some meringue, ripening citrus fruits. Medium to full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Sugary finish, a little warming, more jammy citrus. Good stuff overall.
