Amber pour with thin beige head, sticky lacing, light malty aroma. Taste is sweet malt, hints of maple, caramel and toffee. Mouthfeel is slick to watery, with lingering candy sweetness, slightly metallic. Good try, but just average.

12 oz can from a six pack bought at Super 1 in Rathdrum, ID. Aroma is doughy, chalky, lemony. Pours hazy orange with a medium off-white collapsing head; leaves a ring of foam and some lace. Taste is better than the aroma let on. It has the right amount of bitterness (which for me is a lot) backed by subdued sweet malt. Citrusy and doughy flavors. Prickly carbonation, medium body. Really nice pale ale.

16 oz can from a four-pack bought at Super 1 in CDA, ID. Aroma is doughy and consists of Belgian yeast that imparts some clove, pepper. Pours clear gold with a thick off-white head with excellent retention; decorative lace is left on the glass after it recedes. Taste is extremely bitter for a Belgian-style brew, but it’s backed by the spicy Belgian yeast character and some sweet malt; the bitterness is most prominent, though. It’s citrusy, earthy, a bit savory. Body is thin, but this being a summertime beer, that’s understandable. Nice one. It definitely belongs under that (fairly) recent American craft trend umbrella most commonly referred to as "Belgian IPA."

I really enjoyed this (on tap at Papa Joe’s), lots of hop flavor without the overpowering tartness. Hazy amber with a small creamy head, mild pine bitterness, abrupt finish. Enjoyable and highly drinkable.

Draft. Golden beer with an off-white head. Yeast and malt aroma. Malt and yeast flavor with citrus. Medium bodied. Malt and yeast linger with citrus.

Can courtesy of JohnGalt1, thanks! Very dark brown color, thick and viscous. Sizeable brown head after an aggresive pour, but it fades quickly. The aroma is good; a nice blend of oak, char, bourbon, and malt. Good balance of sweet and char. That same balance holds up well in the taste. Good malt bill compliments the roast and barrel notes, along with a very agreeable amount of chocolate. The huge plus here is the brewer giving me something I (almost) always want: A big, brawny RIS in a small format. Not overbearing that I need to slowly sip, but big enough to savor moderately. If it was available locally, I’d drink this all the time.

Out of a can that BuckeyeBoy graciously gave me. Deep black thick pour with a fat pillowy cocoa head. Rich chocolaty toffee aroma with some barrel goodness. Light roast flavors, smooth chocolate and caramel. Like a candy bar. Sipping some of the foamy head with each drink is like whipped cream, or the middle of a 3 musketeers. Thick creamy palate. Just barely enough bitterness at the end. Lingering bitter rast and chocolate. Lovely.

12 oz can from a six pack bought at Super 1 in Rathdrum, ID. Pours hazy cantaloupe with a large cream-colored ice cream float-looking head with excellent retention; after it recedes a little bit, some decorative lace is left behind. Aroma is toasty, crackers, piney, grapefruit, catty. Taste starts out a little sweet before a nice bitterness sets in and lingers. Body is thin for style, which is fine with me; creamy mouthfeel. Basic PacNW IPA, but very well done.

12 ounce can. Luckily some hobo left a box of half finished beers near my hotel room, and this was in the box! Fuck yeah! Anyway, the nose is big barrel, chocolates and oak. The flavor is big sludgy fudge and chocolates, raisin, tannins, light vanilla and light barrel overall. Dry mostly. A light whiskey bite in the finish. Very good! Dude, Boise homeless are much better than Pittsburgh homeless who leave only dead hookers to clean up.

Can: Looks a little like wildflower honey with a thick white head. Nose is mostly yeast, a little floral, and spent grains. Mild flavor is grain, more yeast, esters, and faint florals. Sort of a soft and dirty version of style... OK, but I’m having a little difficulty getting into it. Thanks to Buckeyeboy for the hookup.
