Description
Cider done right. That means delicious West Country cider made from fresh apple juice, using the best locally-sourced apples. Founded in 2002, we are independent, family-owned and very proud to be based in the oldest working cider mill in the UK, breathing life back into the old building. Our home in the heart of Devon is the perfect micro-climate to grow cider apples and we are blessed with some of the finest bittersweet apple orchards in the world. We press and ferment whole juice from the finest locally sourced fruit, never from concentrate. No artificial flavours or aromas, simply the best natural ingredients, and then let it age to perfection. No shortcuts. The result? Delicious, beautifully balanced and naturally refreshing cider.

Cask, half-pint, shared with Finn at Adelphi in Preston. Clear amber coloured body, naked surface, poor lacing. Apple skins on the nose, woody. Mid-sweet taste of apples and pears, woody. Prolonged ending. Okay, a bit unvaried though. (05.02.2019).

Bottle from ALDI. Hazy and pale gold in colour, with a thin, white, head. Medium dry, fresh apple juice, some rustic character and a medium finish with some jarring artificial sweetener. Ok.

Box @ Bridge Lane Ale House. Pours clear pink, good moderately sweet red berry nose. Light, oily palate, Gentle red berry notes to taste, not sparkling so I imagine others will probably add a separate entry. I can't be bothered. Nice moderately sweet raspberry notes. Decent.

330ml bottle from Scrattings. Pours a clear copper, thin white ring atop. Golden rich aroma with stewed apple, honey and mirage-like cinnamon notes. Oily palate, low natural carbonation, slick stewed apple fruit, interesting medium fruit blend, smooth bodied with a gentle sweetness. Some fleeting cinnamon on the finish. Nice keeved cider.

500ml bottle from Aldi. Slightly hazy yellow colour, fizzy white foam head that quickly dissipates away and aroma of tangy apple, sulphut hint. Taste is fruity tangy apple, oaky, light funky with some drying tartness. Light bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry finish. Quite OK.

Draft: Poured a pinkish with circle of bubbles. Aroma was nice apple, blackberries, fruity. Taste was semi sweet with blackberry and apples. My wife even liked this one, which surprised me.
