Sweet malts and grains in the nose, sweet BE yeast and white bread, fruity citrus fruits,… Taste is sweet grains, white bread, white sugar, citrus & tangerines, somewhat artificially sweet feel to it, bitter herbs and hint of grass,… Touch lower carb. hint ticker.

Little cloudy yellowish beer, creamy white head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: grains, very yeasty, fruity, peaches, orange peel, sweet ripe banana. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very fruity, peaches, citrus, orange peel, little bitter, floral, grassy. Aftertaste: floral, very yeasty, bit fruity, spices.

On tap at Domus, called Nen Engel, ABV 8%. Dark amber-brown colour, off-white head. Aroma is sweet, dark fruits, forest fruits, sweet amber malts, light spice like aniseed/coreander. Flavour is sweet, spicy, light metallic, dark fruits and forest fruits, caramel, light tart, alcholic bitter finish with some spice. Medium-bodied.

On tap at Domus. Slightly hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of lemon, spelt, hint of lemony tartness, pale malts, light sulphur. Flavour is light tart lemon, floral, pale malts, refreshing, nice firm grass and citrus bitter finish. Light-bodied. Highly quaffable stuff.

Tap @ 18de Kerstbierfestival, Essen 2012. Cuivrée/rubis, col fin beige. Arôme est fruité noirs, léger en épice - kruiden - le tout reste assez faiblard. Palais est moyen avec ce relent de fruits noirs, acétone ou alors possible trop d’épices. Profil reste très belge avec dans l’ensemble ce côté typique de malt carapils, dark fruité noir moyen.

Clear deep red brown beer, aery off-white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: yeast, spices, something rotten, star anise, cloves, dirty. This smells pretty bad. MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: rotten fruits, jam, banana peel, yeasty, very unpleasant, completely off. This is really bad. I don't know what went wrong, but they should have taken this keg out of the system.

Zythos Bierfestival 2012, Leuven, Belgium. Poured up via wooden cask gravity feed with deep copper brown body supporting a nice tan colored head of foam. The aroma is very date and prune and fig like with maybe some toffee around the edges. The taste begins with Quad Abt 12 like flavors such as dates and earthy figs and then it moves into a bit of molasses. By midway extra yumminess just happens as rich deep earthiness and some chocolate join the other notes and takes this experience over the top. It is Quad meets English Style Barleywine and it is all soooo good. Love it!

Hazy brown colour. Aroma dampened by the thick creamy head but hs sweet fruitiness and malt. Flavour is similar becoming sweeter with red fruit flavours.
