Bottle @ Armin’s place. Hazy, golden orange appearance with no head. Rich pineapple, mango, tart citrusy, tangy aroma. Low carbonation. Tangy, pineapple, orange citrusy, tart fruity flavor. Not all that bad but the carbonation is dead.

Bad bourbon aroma and alcohol burn. Overwhelming flavor of bourbon. Brown, and virtually no carbonation. Boozy and unpleasant, and very dry. The high alcohol content with teh bourbon makes this virtually undrinkable to my palate.

A solid barleywine. Opaque brown color and a thick, heavy beer. Brown sugar, caramel, and an alcohol burn. Sweet finish, and low carbonation. This should be sold in a nip, not a bomber.

12oz can pours somewhat clear copper with gold hues and supporting a nice looking tan head. The modest aroma has a mix of mostly spicy and floral hops with lesser notes of sweet malts and resiny grassiness. OK, I’m digging the mix of resiny hop bitterness and the modest levels of malt sweetness at the base of the flavor. I get a good load of hops with pine bitterness, some spicy hops and a hint of floral hops too. The more I drink of this the more I’m liking it.

Enjoyed at the Black Friday Tasting pouring up clear deep mahogany with light tan head. The modest aroma offers up dark roasted malts, caramel, a mild level of cherry, spicy oak, faint vanilla and a bit of smooth bourbon. The taste has full up dark roasted coffee notes as well as sweet dark fruity esters mixing with chocolate brownie, caramel candy and thin ribbons of spicy black strap molasses and smooth sweet bourbon. Diggin’ this robust Porter.

12 oz can from a trade with cbkschubert. Pours hazy dark orange color with off white head. Pine and caramel malt aromas. Sweet caramel flavor with some pine and moderate bitterness. On the malty side for an IPA. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Thanks Craig.

Small batch Saturday. Murkky brown ale. . No head. A bit funky and think with light toast notes. As usual for the pro-ams, not very well composed and too many flaws.

Dark brown. Very rich coffee character. Quite smooth. Good balance, rich coffee. Light stouty character. Not super well-balanced but there’s a little sweetness and I actually like the coffee character.
