Description
Founder Tsjomme Zijlstra's idea to start his own brewery came to him after his time in England. He started to brew his own beer at home and decided in 2014 that he wanted go bigger. He met Menno and John, owners of Brouwerij de Molen in Bodegraven, and told them his story. They taught him how to brew with one of their old brewing installations. Kaapse Brouwers was born.

We are Kaapse Brouwers. We are the brewers who introduced craft beer to Rotterdam, and Rotterdam to the world. With our Kaapse recipes we brew non-conformist beers. We choose for bold recipes and love to experiment with different flavors to create contemporary craft beers.

Bottle @ Patricks. Pitch black body undewr a small, disapearig beige head. Aroma of dark roasted malt, mild peat, leather and some alcohol. Taste is rather sweeet, dark roasted malt, smooth peat, chokolate, liqurice and warming alcohol. Fine body with long lasting aftertaste. Nice and pleasant sipper.

Bottle, at Patricks. A black one with a small beige head. Just a rim of bubbles actually. Lightly alcoholic aroma with roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee and a touch of wood and earth. It's full bodied and warming, softly carbonated and quite smooth, with more sweetness than dryness. Licorice, oak, booze, roasted malts and some coffee and dark bitter chocolate. Lasting warming finish. Quite decent this one. 241012
