Description
In mythology, literature and many cultures, the Raven is seen as a culture hero, a revered and benevolent, transformative figure. The Raven helps people, blesses them with gifts and shapes the world. But at the same time, he is a frivolous trickster, a light-hearted prankster who is sometime gluttonous and impatient. The Raven as our totem works perfectly. We like to think we are creative, wise, playful and a bit bird-brained; just like those wacky Ravens.

Clear golden colour, white head. Resinous aroma, hops and pine. Bitter hoppy flavour, sweat and resin, floral notes. Quite dry. Finish hops, bitter hops, pine and biscuit. Rather nice, but a 5% session IPA? That’s pushing it..

Thank you tderoeck! 650 ml. bottle sampled @ “The Tasting formerly known as Mons RBBAG I (2014)”. Bottled on 06/08/2014 – so very fresh. Near clear golden, little white head. Citrus & floral hops nose, very bitter, nearly medicinal floral hops,.. Light medicinal hop taste, very dry, bitter, really dries out the mouth, citrus, finishes near floral. Very dry destroying the potential sessionability of it, also 5 % ABV Session IPA, lol. 5 % ABV is just an IPA. Decent for sure but too far from fruity hop spectrum of IPA’s for my personal preferences, tad too medicinal but still enjoyable.

Bottle pour. Pours a transparent yellow color with a citrus, sour like aroma. Love the mandarin orange flavor on this. A lot of other citrus like flavors and a nice mild spice finish. Definitely has a white wine feel to it, with a good pepper kick. Unique beer. Lots going on with this one. Good stuff.

Draught at Elizabeth Station, Bellingham
Dark amber color, clear. The aroma is mildly vinous, oxidized, whiskey barrel. Lean body, quite sweet, but the booze balances the sweetness; caramel flavor, with bourbon whiskey; low bitterness.
May be pleasant to drink, but it’s simplistic, and it’s messy.

Bottle from Whole Foods
Cloudy golden color with a lot of floaties; small head. Strange aroma: lemon, soap, rosemary, heather. The mouthfeel is rather dry; no notable malt flavor; strong bitterness; but it has a soapy character, and herbs, and some citrus peel.
Weird, hardly pleasant.
