Description
In mythology, literature and many cultures, the Raven is seen as a culture hero, a revered and benevolent, transformative figure. The Raven helps people, blesses them with gifts and shapes the world. But at the same time, he is a frivolous trickster, a light-hearted prankster who is sometime gluttonous and impatient. The Raven as our totem works perfectly. We like to think we are creative, wise, playful and a bit bird-brained; just like those wacky Ravens.

Draft at GABBF: Poured a super dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is nice bourbon with some wood, vanilla, and carmel. Taste was nice boozy vanilla, bourbon, light hints of chocolate and malts. Somehow I didn’t add my rating from last year, but another year on this has really made it something special.

Flight at brewery. Very pale color, clear. I think it’s a well executed. Just enough banana aroma to make it a definite weizen but clean and clear with just a slightly muddled malt - a bit vegetal white bread. A mineral quality. Decent stuff for this style.

Flight at brewpub. Clear orange amber color. Moderately sticky lacing. Aroma is straight up Brett - a little oily but not goatsy. A little sweet Brett and lots of barnyard funk. Its very nice and I get no dry hop notes, which I am thankful for. Lots of fruity bretty. Flavor again hits with a dry fruit, a candied mild ester flavor. I like it, low alpha bitter, mild acidity, dry finish. Malt flavor is a clean amber maltiness - clean faint woodsy. Short aftertaste. Mild malt and Brett bitterness at the end.

Draft pour at Frankies pizza. Pours a light golden color with a foamy head. Very soft, mild floral hops aroma. Light sweet fruit front with a good balance of hops. Very gentle flavored beer, and a good one true to the style. Easy drinking. Very nice beer.

Seattle Taproom, Seatac. Golden-Amber with a frothy head. Aroma is dry and woody. Chewy up front, with a caramel forward with dryish hop note. Sort of old school but not really - a lighter malt chewiness, with some biscuit. I guess I’d prefer not to talk so much about the malt when drinking IPA but ok.

On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is highly spiced, with nutmeg and ginger. Flavour is huge on the ginger - not a whole lot else in this. If you like tastefully done ginger beers, this is it. But I'm not a huge fan. It's okay.

Draft pour. Pours a light golden color with a mild sweet aroma. Good balance of hops and malt here. Hips more towards the finish. Solid IPA. Had several times over and it hasn’t gotten old.
