Description
Sea Cider is a farm-based cidery located on the Saanich Peninsula just minutes from Victoria, on Vancouver Island. Our ten-acre farm is home to over 1,300 apple trees, made up of over 50 varieties of heritage apples.

Sea Cider opened its farm gate for business in 2007 when owner Kristen Jordan purchased the property with a vision of creating an organic farm and orchard and producing traditional fermented artisan ciders. Since then, we’ve grown to an annual cider production of over 7,000 cases and growing. We continue to pride ourselves on crafting traditionally fermented ciders from organically grown apples, and our award-winning cider is now available throughout B.C., Alberta, Manitoba, Washington State, Illinois, and Oregon.

750mL bottle, pours a clear blonde with a few bubbles head. Aroma is very dry, with crisp green apples. Flavour is low-to-medium sweet, with green apples and champagne. Dry, earthy and not terrible complex. Okay.

Tasting at Josh’s
Pale yellow color, large bubbles, no head. Mild aroma of pine. Very dry, the hop is not evident, maybe there is some; the fir needles are more evident, still not oppressive.
Not bad, but I don’t understand the need of it.

Greenish yellow and with light effervescence. The aroma is hoppy with citrus, and the cider is a little further back. On the palate, quite tart, very malic, with the hops manifesting as bitterness mostly. The tartness is a bit much for me.

Bottle - Fleshy green apple and skin. Pale yellow. Tart and green apple notes with a bone dry finish. Very tart but I don’t really get the hops or pine.

Light brown, sweet with a light caramelly note, a touch of acid late, with shots of alcohol in the finish. As always, good stuff.

Red wine color. Sweet fruity aroma. The berry and apple join together to make a nice fruit medley. Sweet with very low tart notes. Good.

Deep red colour. A touch of froth, early. The aroma has a lot of apple, and a touch of the bramble to lend accent to the fruitiness. The bramble comes out more in the palate. The background apple is too much like commercial apple juice, and the brambles then bring a decent fruitiness over top, but the overall presentation is something a bit more commercial - a fair bit of sweetness in the finish.

Bottle. Has a light tan colour without much effervescence. The aroma is skins, with an earthy bitter apple character. Lightly effervescent on the palate, this is dry, with a light bitterness, and a dash of sweeter fruit only in the mid part, before it gets dry, almost leathery, certainly earthy in the finish. Nice cider, quite refreshing.

750mL bottle, pours a clear dark burgundy with a tiny head. Aroma brings out dark berries, medium sweetness and light acidity. Flavour is along the same lines, with a very pronounced fruitiness, light tartness and light-to-medium sweetness. Super fruity from the dark fruits. Very nice stuff.

750mL bottle, pours a clear bright golden with a small white head. Nose brings out dry apples and champagne effervescence. Flavour is fairly dry but a little sweet, with dry green apples, champagne qualities, and a dry bitter finish. Quite complex and well-balanced. Very nice.
