Description
Sea Cider is a farm-based cidery located on the Saanich Peninsula just minutes from Victoria, on Vancouver Island. Our ten-acre farm is home to over 1,300 apple trees, made up of over 50 varieties of heritage apples.

Sea Cider opened its farm gate for business in 2007 when owner Kristen Jordan purchased the property with a vision of creating an organic farm and orchard and producing traditional fermented artisan ciders. Since then, we’ve grown to an annual cider production of over 7,000 cases and growing. We continue to pride ourselves on crafting traditionally fermented ciders from organically grown apples, and our award-winning cider is now available throughout B.C., Alberta, Manitoba, Washington State, Illinois, and Oregon.

Bottle thanks to kbudd19! Pours clear reddish hazel, small fizzy off-white head that dissipates quickly and leaves minimal lacing. Aroma is lots of red apple, bourbon, vanilla, dark fruits. Flavor is medium sweet, hint of apple tartness, a bit of mustiness, oaky vanilly, bourbon and apples. Quite nice actually. A bit of heat on the finish.

375mL bottle, pours a clear dark amber orange -- like syrup. Nose is treacly, with toffee, caramel, brown sugar and sugar apples. Flavour is quite intensely sweet, but not cloying, with notes of apple liqueur, caramel, treacle toffee, sugar and alcohol. Unlike some other reviewers, I find this rather decadent and measured. Very enjoyable. Lovely stuff.

750mL bottle, pours a clear yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out dry pear skins with a touch of sweetness. Flavour is very refreshing, almost funky, with pear skins, a tiny bit of sweetness, and a little funk. Medium carbonation, with a nice lightly funky finish and pear skins and dryness. Very nice perry.

Bottle at CiderWISE, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Nose is subtle, with some wild yeast and dry apples. Flavour is bone dry, with quite a high farmhouse funk factor, mouth-drying apples, and medium acidity. The funk is very pleasing, complementing the dryness expertly. Couldn't drink much of this, due to the huge dryness, but it's very well-done.

Corked bottle
Dark blood color. It doesn’t even taste like a cider, it tastes like sweet berry wine, you can get the fortification; there is a good level of acidity and light astringency in the end.
Nice.

Tasting at Matt’s
Nice amber color. It’s a moderately sweet cider, with warm alcohol feeling, warm spices (cinnamon, cloves) and light orangey touch; the final is lightly hot, peppery; and it has some trace of mature apples. I know that this is basically not a true cider, but it’s a pleasant drink.
