Description
Sea Cider is a farm-based cidery located on the Saanich Peninsula just minutes from Victoria, on Vancouver Island. Our ten-acre farm is home to over 1,300 apple trees, made up of over 50 varieties of heritage apples.
Sea Cider opened its farm gate for business in 2007 when owner Kristen Jordan purchased the property with a vision of creating an organic farm and orchard and producing traditional fermented artisan ciders. Since then, we’ve grown to an annual cider production of over 7,000 cases and growing. We continue to pride ourselves on crafting traditionally fermented ciders from organically grown apples, and our award-winning cider is now available throughout B.C., Alberta, Manitoba, Washington State, Illinois, and Oregon.

Tasting at Matt’s
Golden color with light orangey hue. Light rose flowers aroma; the moderate sweetness and the light corky flavor adds a nice dimension to this cider.
Quite good.

Bottle shared during the first Late Nite session of RBWG 2015. Pours Clear deep gold with a bubbly white head. The nose has some ripe and dusty old apples. Medium to big sweet flavor but still surly dry, with some spice, ripe apples, some bitter skins. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, more dank and well ripened apples. Not bad.

375mL bottle, pours a dark purple-ish red with a tiny head. Nose is pretty heated, with lots of alcohol, raspberries, and sweetness. Flavour is intensely sweet, with black raspberries, alcohol and liqueur-like hotness. Not the most elegant drink, but it's a very nice liqueur / desert wine. Decent.

750mL bottle, pours a clear golden bronze with basically no head. Nose brings out light spices, medium sweet apples, liqueur, and a thorough dryness to this despite the high ABV, which is fairly well-hidden. Flavour is heavily spiced, with notes of cinnamon and clove upfront, followed by light orange peel, sweet apples, and alcohol. I know this isn't authentic, but this sure is well-balanced and multi-dimensional. ABV is scarily well-hidden, with not much of a burn, though there is a nice warming effect. Excellent non-traditional "cider".

750mL bottle, pours a clear pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma is very sweet, with baked apple pie, caramelized sugar, and some light champagne yeast notes. Flavour is quite dry and tart, with dry apples, champagne yeast, some light dry caramel notes, and a little cinnamon. Medium carbonation, with a mouthfeel that begins somewhat sweet and finishes dry. Very nice stuff.

750mL bottle, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is quite complex, with rhubarb, some slight apple, and medium sweetness. Flavour is very complex, with lots of apples, rhubarb, candied sugar, and light alcohol. Damn, this is complex. It's got a sort of champagne-like complexity to it. Fantastic stuff.

750mL bottle, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Nose brings out light spiciness, a touch of herbal mushrooms, and dry apples. Flavour brings out a mix of spices and apples, with notes of cinnamon and nutmeg upfront, followed by medium-dry apples. Quite a lot of depth to this. Medium complex and highly drinkable. Very nice stuff.
