Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Opaque dark brown beer with a small dark tan head. Palate is smooth and dry with light fine carbonation. Flemish red sourness with a touch of balsamic vinegar. Light bitterness. Finishes smooth. Tasty but not as good as the Oud Bruin.

Bottle at home in London. My first bottle from this brewery. Quite lively out of the bottle. Huge head that really lasts. Lots of bready malts in the aroma, some ripe orange. Medium sweet with mild alcohol bump, some ripe citrus fruits, a bit of pine and orange rind bitterness, doughy bread. Medium to full bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Warming finish with more bready malts, orange meringue, citrus hops, pine, mild leaves, hints of honey. Tasty beer. Like a hoppy English strong ale.

Taste is not as strong as the nose but delivers that Flemish sourness. Tangy dark fruits. Mild wood. Pinch of salt before a light finish. Decent.

Gravity cask at the Wandsworth Common Halloween Beer Festival - Le Gothique, London. Pours mostly clear gold with a fine, filmy white head. The nose has moderate citrus, basic pale bread. Light to medium sweet flavor with bitter grain husks, orange, dry bread, a bit of citrus rind. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Mellow rindy bitterness in the finish with dry bread sweetness. Basic but fine.

Gravity cask at the Wandsworth Common Halloween Beer Festival - Le Gothique, London. Pours clearish, deep ruby with a frothy, white head. The aroma has dried berries and a bit of toasted bread. The flavor is light to medium sweet with dry and toasty brown bread, mild leaf and pine bitterness, some dried berries. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Good condition. Pretty clean finish, well balanced, with light leaves and earth giving moderate bitterness, hints of toasted malts and cocoa, a bit more dried and somewhat leather fruits, berries. Very good.

Bottle thanks to Kenny. It pours hazy dark brown with a small beige head. The nose is cherry cola, candy, earth, wood and dark fruit. The taste is wet wood, earth, cola, blueberry, cherry, light tartness, sugar, sherbet, green apple and creaminess with a dry, tart finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Interesting and pretty tasty.

Bottle thanks to Kenny. It pours darkest brown with a small, bubbly beige head. The nose is sour, woody, light vanilla, honey, cocoa, fudge and rocky road. The taste is smooth, vinous, earth, red wine, prune, vanilla, coconut, light tartness, lemon sherbet and mild acidity with a dry finish. Medium+body and moderate carbonation. Smooth, tart and earthy. A decent sour brown.

Cask pint at The Roebuck, Chiswick. ABV was 4.1%. Served a bit too warm. Copper to brown colour, low off-white head. Malty aroma, some toffee and fruit. Malty flavour, some fruit, dusty hops in the finish.

Bottle thanks to Kenny. It pours hazy deep red-brown with a small beige head. The nose is tangy, red wine vinegar, coconut, vanilla, vinous, mild acidity and grape skin. The taste is mellow, plum, red grape, wood, earth, mild tartness, tangy fruit, soft alcohol, light acidity and salted caramel with a dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and soft mouth-feel. Smooth and well-integrated. Rather nice.
