On tap. Pours black with light head. Aromas of chocolate nougat, dry caramel, and toasted malts. Flavours of sweet boozy liquor, sweet caramel, raisins, and toasted malts. Quite sweet but overall quite could. Would like to see how this ages.

330 bottle. Pours black with short tan head. Aromas of chocolate nougat, graham cracker, sweet woody whiskey, black coffee, and roasted malts. Flavors follow same with additional dark fruit. Most excellent. Wow. The way barrel aged beers were delivered pre COVID and always should be.

0.33 l bottle from 'Hetbiermoment.nl', best before September 2030. Pitch black with a thin, frothy, almost stable, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, rather smoky-medicinal and a bit fruity aroma of peat, iodine, dark chocolate, licorice, hard roasted coffee and whisky. Quite sweet, malty, fairly roasty, rather smoky-medicinal and a bit fruity taste of dark chocolate, hard roasted coffee, licorice, peat, iodine, whisky and light dark fruits, followed by a long, quite roasty-bitter, rather smoky-medicinal and a little warming finish. Full body, smooth smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Lovely brew, very intense, great barrel-aging. Another gem from Menno.

Rating #10,000: 0.33 l bottle from 'Hetbiermoment.nl', bottled in May 2025. Slightly hazy, very dark ruby with a thin, frothy, quickly diminishing, beige head. Intensely sweetish-malty, gently fruity aroma of molasses, caramel, chocolate, raisins, cherry, prunes, some vanilla and a touch of alcohol. Rather sweet, malty, moderately bitter, gently fruity and a little vinous taste of molasses, caramel, chocolate, cherry, raisins, prunes and vanilla, followed by a long, moderately bitter, warming finish. Almost full-bodied, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Delicious brew, quite complex, could be a little more viscous. Not the masterpiece I hoped for but still a solid sipper.
