Good cream-coloured head over deep dark brown-red beer. Nutty, liquorice, fusels, (over)ripe banana. Red wine with liquorice, jap and old wine - strange combination - it works if only barely. Very rich, flavourfull, alcoholburn. Low to medium carbonation. Rich. La Pirata, change? Txs to Stef!

(Draft at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 1 March 2026) Dark reddish amber colour with brief beige head. Malty, vinous nose with notes of caramel, dried fruit, oak wood, syrup and brandy. Malty, vinous taste with caramel, syrup, dried fruit, raisins, figs, dates, oak wood, brandy and a mild spicy bitterness in a warming finish. Full body, quite sweet. Rich, tasty and quite warming. Great beer!

Nose is ripe dried fruit rinds, figs, dates, whisky barrel, toffee, dark malts.
Taste comprises liquid fruit cake, booze, spice, dark malts, molasses, dates, figs, raisins, big whisky punch.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a good rising boost cloaked with whisky barrel.
Solid kit.

Can at home, shared with Laura. Brownish red color, medium sized off-white to beige head. Aroma and flavor are malts, a bit bitter, more bitterness thereafter with some caramel and caramelized malts. Decent to medium body, decent carbonation. Quite solid. Don't get cherry liquor though tbh.

Fles gedeeld met Roelzie. Het is een diep donkerbruin tot zwart bier met een volle beige schuim. Het heeft een aroma van gebrande mout, chocolade en peper. De smaak is vol gebrande, zoete toffee, chocolade en peperig in de afdronk.
