Nice crisp old, lightish copper coloured body with an orange glow and a nice sized, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of bright hops, alcohol, coriander seed and a nice metallic note with some earthy bite. Medium-bodied; Strong hoppy note at first then fades to a orange and citrus flavour followed by a metallic punch and then finished by a bitter earthy and super pungent nutty flavour. Aftertaste is very rich and potent and way too bittering with not much other good flavour - just strong and way too potent. Overall, an interesting beer that’s fairly complex, but a lot of the flavours are way too strong and not in a good way. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia on 19-January-2012 for US$2.99 sampled at home in Washington on 11-March-2012.

Slightly hazy copper coloured body with a honey glow and a super thick, eight centimetre tall off-white head - crazy large with a hazy glow in the body. Aroma of pale malt, light sugars, coriander seed and a bit of dry hay and grass. Medium-bodied; Grassy, yeastie, barnyardie flavour at first with a lot of malt, some light saisony notes and a dry hop flavour at the end. Aftertaste shows some good complexity with nothing harsh at all - good flavours, some dry, some spicey and some showing alcohol. Overall, a decent beer - not exactly sure what style this is really trying to be, but it goes down relatively easy and has some great flavours to boot. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 09-November-2011 for US$4.99 sampled at home in Washington on 17-February-2012.

Diamond knot industrial ipa 7.9% lots of piney hops on aroma. Some toffee sweetness. Too toffee sweet for me in mouth. Yes building hop and strong bitter finish but bitterness is not flavoursome just harsh. too sweet nit enough flavour on the hops past the aroma. 836313 Bottle from Bottle Shop Canterbury

22oz bomber from Elise split at Madison tasting. Unfiltered brown ale, nice steady west coast hop depth. Smooth malt tones, stikcy green tinged brown chocolate. Like a nut brown in a lot of respects, this is a pretty solid offering. Some cookie dough in the finish. Well balanced, well done

Bottle shared by someone at Madison tasting. Pours a clear brown with a gray head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma has a decent amount of sweet grain with some backing earthy grains and must. Flavor has lots of earthy grains with a bit of sweet grains and a light chocolate note.

Bomber pours clear deep gold with three inch near rocky off white head, uh oh. The aroma is sort of dusty with a bit of yeast as well as spicy hops and vague bitterness, soapy notes and almost a spicy wood sensation. The taste is similar with bitterness and sharp spiciness and also soapy notes mixing with acidity. It seems the condition of this bottle isn’t pristine. I hate the way these big box bottle shops store all the IPA and Pales at room temperature and bathed in UV lighting (purchased at Total Wine in Tempe). Need to re-rate a fresh bottle from a better bottle shop.

Honey and hay nose, with earthy potting soil accents. Cloudy orange amber, medium yellow head. Pronounced dirt flavor within a tart malt base. Walnut finish. Pale and tart for the style, but not boring at all.

Bottle @ Danish Summer Gathering, Ulfborg 2011. Quite clear golden with a quickly dissolving head. Very hoppy aroma. TRopical fruits, citrus, pine needels. Similar rich hoppy flavour on a nice malty background.

Bottle courtesy of Jan & Charlotte, many thanks! consumed in Frank (camper) in a sloping campsite field close to cliff edge, Nr Looe Cornwall, 24.12.11 Pours gold with a slim white head. There is a good aroma in that typically American IPA way. This is a touch too sweet for me, hoppy with a touch of pine and bitter but not bitter or hoppy enough, I struggle a little with the heavy blanket of sweetness. Once again, big thanks to Jan & Charlotte for this beer. A7 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.3
