2013 bottle. Pours mahogany into a tulip. Off-white head with medium retention recedes to mottle surface. Vanilla, oak and bourbon. Soft with sweet bourbon and vanilla upfront turning midly sour in the lasting bitter finish.

Bottle from Craft Beer Cellar Nashua. Solid black color with a decent sized but short lived tan head. Big roasty maltiness with hints of chocolate, molasses, and caramel. Big earthy citrus hop aroma was a bit unexpected but pleasant for this hophead. Bitter roast with a dark sugary burnt molasses thing dominate. Light chocolate and caramel again but the hops rush in and obliterate those with and earthy pithy citrus flavor that actually gets a bit harsh at times. Medium to thick body with a light level of carbonation and an oily silky mouthfeel. I liked the first few sips a lot, but as I let her warm and open up it became obvious that this needs some balance. There’s a huge hoppiness competing with a big burnt sugary roastiness and it just seems to clash a bit. Some time would probably make this a fantastic brew!

Thanks Heather for the Beverage King Hookup. Pitch black, reddish hues, a 1 finger head that sticks around pretty wel. Nose is sweet, lots of cocoa and some macadamia nut and a tough of walnut or peanut butter. Lots of cocoa, thick oily and a very hot high bitterness, nutty with some cocoa. pretty boozy, i get some grain alcohol finish. Not sure if I’m a huge fan of this one.

From cask. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is grapefruity and light peachy. Bitter, fruity, peachy and light citrusy. Crisp hoppy and fruity finish.

Paid $9.00 for a 12 oz. snifter at Thirsty Moose Dover, ouch! Thick tan head with great retention and coated the glass until the conclusion. Aroma is moderate amount of roasted malts, grain and deep chocolate. Slight alcohol, not distracting.
Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, light nuttiness and light coffee. Good amount of roasted bitterness with light smoke/char, and balanced by coffee bitterness and light booze to cut the sweetness. Bigger ABV is not a distraction. Some deep roasted malt complexity. Creamy / smooth mouthfeel that feels nice over the tongue. For an Imperial stout NOT aged in a barrel, this is a pretty great example of the style.

Bottle picked up today from the Bodega Lightly hazy golden color with a smallish bubbly white head. Aromas of bready biscuity malt with a fair amount of pine resin and dankness. Light orange and tropical fruitiness provide some nice balance. The flavor is sweet bread and biscuits with a hint of honey. Moderate resinous and tropical fruit hop flavors with a mild bitterness. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Decent brew but the flavors have me wondering the true age of this bottle.

12 oz. bottle. Cloudy amber/ orange color with thin lasting head. Aroma shows pine and resinous hops, mild malt underneath.
The malt is sweet bread and sweet grain upfront with a solid amount of pine and floral hops showing through in the finish. The bitterness is rather long in duration. Average body and dry resin dryness Weak citrus notes, this was bottled a few months ago, that being said, it is a solid Dipa.

Draft at the Great British Beer Festival 2014, Day 1 - London. Pours clear, dark gold with a light, white cream head. Nicely balanced with notes of melon, mango, light minerals, faint leaves, orange rind. Light bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Well balanced to finish as well. Tasty. Pleasant citrusy hops throughout with light grainy pale malts. Good one.
