Description
Moncada is more than a brewery – it’s our home. When Julio Moncada first came travelling through West London in 2001 he instantly fell in love with the place. As a dedicated “foodie” he first wanted to start a deli, but then he had an even better idea – the Moncada Brewery.
We began Moncada Brewery in the colourful area of Notting Hill. Julio surrounded himself with like-minded craft beer obsessives and became inspired by the neighbourhood – creative, vibrant and hemmed with diversity – and the Notting Hill beer range was born, which makes up our core range today.
Later, in 2017, we moved to Dollis Hill to expand and explore a new locality. A new place marked a new start, and the Blueprint beer series was launched, focusing on experimentation and limited edition releases, with a touch of eccentricity.
Relocated once more in Spring 2018 to the current address.

Bottla at home from Oddbins London Bridge. Black coloured pour with dark red hues in the light. Lasting mid tan head. Aroma is earthy cocoa, ashy roast, little jammy fruits, charrred wood. Flavour gives earthy roasted barley, woodlandd berry, little jammy strawberry, dry ashy roast, char. Lingering smoke. Palate is medium bodied, mnoderate to high carbonation, little chalk on the tongue. Really solid porter with good depth.

Cask at Merton Beer Festival Saturday 28th February 2015. Rich reddy colour good clarity with an off white head. Initial assertive bitterness is soon tempered, there is pleasant fruity bite with a good tanginess. Soft squidgy orangey citrus, I think the oakiness is perhaps more subtle and works to add a little more complexity and softens the beer a little. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

On tap at brewery in company of Ang’, Friday 6th February 2015 Pours very pale lemony gold, superb clarity. The nose let’s on that this is a sour. Really tart and tangy in mouth in a cider or very dry challenging wine type way. Really dry finish, hops have all but left the party, really refreshing. Would be a perfect summer beer. On tap at brewery in company of Ang’, Friday 6th February 2015 Lovely nose quite floral with parma violets in particular showing. Quite soft in mouth. Despite what Ang’ thinks this isn’t overly bitter in fact I think the bitterness is great. A very good IPA, decent hoppiness throughout, really lovely. I returned to this again as the evening wore on, damn good beer. A8 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 4.0

Cask at Craft Beer Co, Covent Garden on 25th January 2015. Sepia-black with pale tan foam and chunky lacing. Rich and intense roasty aroma with coffee notes. Intense roastiness in-mouth with coffee flavours and spicy touch. Finish rather sweeter, with caramel roasty malts. Fair amount of body and an engaging texture. Well-crafted stout.
