Bottle, 75cl, courtesy of gunnfryd. Most likely 2018 harvest, purchased in 2019. It's a more or less clear one, straw colored and with a few bubbles on top. Very light carbonation. The aroma has some sulphur and higher alcohols, but fortunately not as bad as most of the other cider/perries I've had from Fossmoen. The fruityness reminds me more of ripe, juicy yellow apples than of pear, so I guess the 10% apple addition has a great impact on this perry. Some rhubarb too, but not sure I'd reckognize that if I didn't know. Cellar hints as well. It's quite tart on the palate, vinegary sour, yet with some fruity sweetness. Very gently carbonated. Ripe yellow apple, some pear, rhubarb, grass and vinegar in the flavor. Subdued alcohol. Medium length acidic, fruity finish. Sort of decent this one, but I still think they should take the ABV down a bit and calm down on the sulphur. Surprisingly little impact from the 15% of rhubarb used. 231228

Bottle from the farm. Clear deep golden body without any head. Aroma of ripe fruit with cellar notes, yeast and alcohol. Taste feels a bit unfinished but still ripe at the same time. Overripe pear, yeast, wood and alcohol. Medium body with a slightly harsh and alcoholic aftertaste.

Bottle from the cidery. Clear reddish golden body with close to no head. Aroma is light apple, red berries, yeast, alcohol and hint of fruit candy. Taste is rather sweet with weak apple flavor, candy syrup, yeast and alcohol. Medium body and same aftertaste ending a bit harsh and boozy. Not very elegant, even if it’s made with pure fruit the taste is a bit candy wise. Perhaps too much sugar. Still drinkable in smaller amounts and at least a bit unusually, a bit like home made fruit wine from the seveties and eighties area.
