Draft @ the Brewpub - split a 120 ml. with ChinoSkillzian, t0rin0 and Womencantsail with enough beer left to spill for the fallen homies - the flavors caught us by surprise and we couldn’t handle it. A amber beer made by a brewer whose name in English means Brewer at the Brewers of the Grand Market - to bad they got dizzy from their creativity before making this beer. It does look amber - which if I understand the RB rules qualities as a 5/5 for appearance because their name clearly indicates this should look amber - with something that could be a white head. Smells of grains, burned candy and cough syrup. Metallic, caramel, stark, herbs, sweet metallic cough syrup, pain, malt, toffee,... Light bodied - I like it less than the Blond one but the ratings just show how ignorant I am - too ignorant to fully appreciate this.

A total of zero f**ks were given as ChinoSkillzian, t0rin0, Womencantsail and me proceeded to eagerly devour a sample of this. Located in the shrine to the Belgian beer-hood that is this brewpub, I instantly recognized that I was in the presence of greatness. If I could visit any moment in history - this would it. In a streak of what can be only described as pure genius, this pale golden beer with a white head was called ’Blond’ - we assumed that this was the corresponding beer on our tray because they didn’t tell us which beers were which and they probably would have tied up and beaten us if we had asked - classic Brussels. Whatever smell I get from this beer is pale malts edging towards grains, metal, hay and some kind of skunk like thing which obviously makes no sense much like the beer itself. Taste is utterly phenomenal because this is a Belgian Ale but I could easily mistake this for a Pale Lager with its wonderful metallic and somewhat grain taste, herbs, spice, grains, cereal. 4 of us got wildly rich tasting notes from this naming at least like 7 different kinds of metals. Clean of most things, light to watery. This is some fine pale lager they brew here for an apt price of what I got glancing at the menu of like a Belgian Ale of even finer quality at Chez Moeder Lambic. At least we could do a flight - that is nice.

darft @ brewpub.

Note fruitée abricot, un peu trop sucrée. Paraît plus être dans l’amateurisme.

Sample tray at the brewput. I guess if you get over the shitty service, this beer could become enjoyable.

On draught at Les Brasseurs in Brussels (as "dark beer" on the English-language menu). The beer pours clear brown with a medium thin light beige head that dissipates steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruit and bready malt. Light body with flavors of sweet malt, cherries and yeast. The finish is short and malty. Pretty average overall.

On draught at Les Brasseurs in Brussels. The beer is a clear golden color with a medium thin white head that recedes steadily to a film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast, spice and banana. Light body for a Tripel with flavors of sweet malt and yeast, spice and fruit. The finish is sweet and fruity. Slightly above average overall.
