Description
St. Peter's is an independent brewery founded in 1996 by John Murphy in former agricultural buildings adjacent to St. Peter’s Hall in St Peter, South Elmham, near Bungay, Suffolk, England. Siting the brewery at St. Peter’s was ideal because of the excellent water quality from our own deep bore-hole. Locally malted barley is used, together with Kentish hops, to produce a range of classical beers (bitters, mild etc.) as well as some more unusual beers such as honey porter and fruit beer.

Fun fact: The oval shape of its signatory 500 ml bottle is based on an 18th-century gin bottle from Gibbstown, by the Delaware River near Philadelphia, USA.

(Cask at Jerusalem Tavern, Farringdon, London, 1 Aug) Colour is amber with almost no head. Nose is fruity with grapefruit, rather one dimensional. Taste is fruity with a dominant grapefruit character and some hints of nuts (almonds). I wouldn’t call this complex, rather one dimensional, but still, nice and refreshing.
