Description
St. Peter's is an independent brewery founded in 1996 by John Murphy in former agricultural buildings adjacent to St. Peter’s Hall in St Peter, South Elmham, near Bungay, Suffolk, England. Siting the brewery at St. Peter’s was ideal because of the excellent water quality from our own deep bore-hole. Locally malted barley is used, together with Kentish hops, to produce a range of classical beers (bitters, mild etc.) as well as some more unusual beers such as honey porter and fruit beer.

Fun fact: The oval shape of its signatory 500 ml bottle is based on an 18th-century gin bottle from Gibbstown, by the Delaware River near Philadelphia, USA.

Bottled at Haket, Gothenburg. Clear, pale golden beer with a large-bubbled white head. Fruity and hoppy aroma with some grainy notes. The flavor is lemony and piney, with hops and fruits. Medium to thin mouthfeel and bitter finish. Not bad, just not that interesting. Rating: 5-3-5-3-11-2.7. (060824)

Bottle, thx to tarjei. A clear, golden beer with a small, off-white head. Grapefruit peel in the aroma, not much else actually, just a hint of a bitter in the background. Strange, but quite nice. The flavor gives the same impression, only it’s the pink grapefruit, not the yellow. Fine bitterness in the finish. Medium body and ok co2 level. A refreshing beer, but too focused on the grapefruit. Gets a bit boring and challenging after a while. (081108)

Decent porter. Dark brown. No dediment and I am guessing it is filtered. The bottle looks cool, but it is green so no extra points there. Aroma has roasted malt and smells like an oatmeal stout. Thin body. Flavor has the standard porter malt, but does it better than many, though perhaps not better than most. Some nuttiness as well.

(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, fully golden with a somewhat rough, white head. Odd aroma of lager and citrus. Medium-bodied and extremely dry with a quinine like bitterness. If anybody ever wondered how their bathing water would taste like, this is the answer. 240806

500 ml bottle, at Haket, Göteborg. Served with a Chimay glass. Black colour, low tan head. Nice roasty aroma with strong notes of prunes and chocolate, hints of liquorice and pipe tobacco. Flavour is creamy and mellow, but also distinctly roasty with notes of coffee and chocolate. A very fine beer.

Bottle, at Haket, Göteborg. Amber colour, low head, looks like a bitter. Leather and dusty attic in the aroma, some fruit too. Taste of lager with some caramel, nothing spectacular, some hops in the finish. Not bad, but not worth the price.

Bottled. Deep golden/amberish colour. Aroma of a wheat beer, along with lots of paper. Flavour is quite the same with fruits added. Quite thin and watery and one-dimensional.

Bottled. Dark golden/amberish colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity and malty mainly. Flavour is fruity, harsh grassyness. Surprisingly much carbonation. Feels unbalanced, but is still not that crap.
