Big foamy head... amber body. Nice toasted smell... malty, a little winy smell in there too I think. Tastes pretty nice. Not as sweet as many other viennas. A little sour close to the finish. Slightly metallic aftertaste.

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007. An amber beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, and so is the flavor thoug added light notes of spices. The body is thin.

So I went down to the brewery today to try this beer, even though folks that went to the cask festival that tried it told me that it tasted "so, so...you know, it just tastes like Blue Point" - I always want to try a new beer made by a local brewer - so down I go to the brewery, and get the beer on cask - it looks good enough - hazy copper with a frothy head - it smells alright - strong herbal hoppiness with fairly apparent rye - then I take a sip - "it tastes like Blue Point" - I could not get those words out of my damn head, because, well, the beer just tastes like Blue Point - there is this extreme homogeneity to all of their products that is so incredibly apparent with this beer - it tastes like they tweaked their ESB recipe and threw in some rye malt - admittedly, it tastes alright - nice fresh, grassy hops - moderate rye presence - light tangy, citrus qualities - slightly too sweet on the back end, but otherwise okay - but that overwhelming SAMENESS - it’s like they had to throw rye in this so they wouldn’t confuse it with their other hoppy beers - but maybe I criticize too much - sure, it tastes alright - it tastes like a middle of the road rye beer - it tastes like Blue Point.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a red-amber color with a small white head. The aroma was strong with artificial blueberry. The flavor was sweet, fruity and strong with an artificial blueberry element that overwhelmed everything else. There was not a whole lot of "beer" like flavor to this one. Disappointing.

Deep black coloured body, fully opaque colour with a thinnish light brown head. Aroma of nice fresh cherries, roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong malt flavours throughout, tucked into a sweet and sour cherry flavour showing more nuts and raisins. Aftertaste has some subtle toffee and vanilla flavours, along with a very light oakyness. Overall, a good beer - I thought it was the best Blue Point beer to date! I sampled this beer on draught at Blind Tiger in New York, New York on 09-December-2007.

Deep orange/amber with a small, yet lasting off-white head. Caramel aroma. Lightly sweet with a touch of bitterness. Overall, thin and boring.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 24 Nov 2007) Pale amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrussy notes of orange and mandarin. Fruity, aromatic taste with notes of orange peel, spruce needles and floral hops in a finish with brilliantly balanced bitterness. Malt and caramel lingers in the background. Nice balance, hoppy and tasty without being overly aggressive. Very nice beer.

Thick amber color with a big head and sticky lacing. Aroma is lightly resin-y, lightly citrus, and bittered sweet flower petals. taste is actually strong sweet malts with hoppy apple.

Finally rating this thing, have had it a few times and never enjoyed it enough, however this time it was different. Sampled at brewery where it poured with a foamy head and a dark brown body. It’s too dark to see through. The beer is caramel and spritz-y with sweet, chewy malts. The taste however is interrupted halfway through with seltzer and mineral flavors. Not a negative actual, stops the beer from getting cloying. Still I have often had this tasting much worse (and probably will later re-rate to a lower rating) but this was nice. A few possible reasons for this: drank at the brewery (and not a contract brewed version); it’s really fresh; or I was in a really good mood (or possibly a combination of these factors.
