Poured from 473mL can (pkg 25 Nov 2025). Chill hazed copper brown with off white head. Mild dark multigrain bread crust overlays soft wild yeasts, super subtle dark sugary note on the finish that must be coming from the maple syrup. Decent.

On tap at The Magnet. Pours black with a tan head. Huge waft of crunchy green peppers on the nose with some roasted malts underneath. Flavour has more of that green pepper nonsense with some roasted malts, vanilla beans, and some nuttiness. I expected a bit better from Beva, this is poor.

On tap at The Magnet. Pours hazy dull ruddy colour with an off-white head. Great rustic funk and dry brown bread malts on the nose. Flavour has rustic, buggy yeast, brown bread crusta, and a touch of dry maple. This comes together very nicely.

473mL can, pours a hazy dark orange with a small beige head. Aroma has plenty of dark bready malt and some bugginess. Flavour has a very nice wild yeast expression, bready malt, and very dry caramel. Great bugginess on the finish. Would’ve never guessed maple syrup was used to referment this. Nicely made.

Pour black with full dark tan head. Aromas of mocha, earthy coffee, sugared nuts, and slick roasted malts. Flavors of creamy coffee, roasted malts, and sugar with hazelnuts showing up in the finish. Quite good.

On tap at The Magnet, pours an opaque yellow with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of spruce, some citrusy hops, and some tropical notes. Flavour has gentle spruce, some citrusy hops, light chalkiness, and soft bready malt. A bit muddled but at least not chalky or hopburny. It’s alright.

On tap at Steamworks Mount Pleasant. Pours hazy dull blonde with a white head. Tons of spruce on the nose with some hints of citrus. Flavour has a huge punch of spruce up front with some pine and citrus notes. Body has a slightly sludgy quality to it. Pretty enjoyable as a spruce beer.

On tap at Threefold. Pours clear amber with an off-white head. Bright pine and toasted bread on the nose. Flavour has a dry, toasty base, cracker malts, good piney hop expression, and a very subtle soft doughiness that betrays the fresh hop. Very nicely done.

On tap at Beva, pours a clear dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma is fairly laid-back, with soft resinous hops, toasted bready notes, and a touch of pine. Flavour is well-hopped and well-balanced, with dry resinous hops, some woody pine, and dry bready caramel malt. Not sure I’d pick up on the fresh hops, but the bitterness is on the lower side, which might be a result of the fresh hops. Great hop expression and structure. Less aggressive the recent red IPA collab with Brassneck, but nearly as good.
