Cask gravity at GBBF 2011. Clear chestnut colour lasting bubbly beige head. Its a decent esb with good malts. Some good hop on end and some biscuit. English beers just seem to be dryer than their american counterparts. Good solid fruity malts good hop bite.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW. Pours cloudy gold with a bubbly, white head. Aroma holds grassy hops and rindy citrus. Light to medium sweet flavor, light toast malts, some lemon citrus. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Has a very bitter finish, grass and earth, some straight dirt, citrus rind, light sugar. Very nice brew.

Cask handpull at Bridewell Liverpool. Clear gold lasting white head. Touch of butter on the aroma. Hops on finish are fine but the butter dont impress me much. Hops on finish are good though drying

Cask handpull at Ye Cracke Liverpool. Brown bitter colour with cream lasting head. Its a fruity mid brown bitter with some biscuit character that is most attractive. I like this brown bitter very much. Nuttiness on finish. Just such a change to get a decent brown bitter. Good stuff. Love drinking the local beers in Liverpool

Cask, 5%. Almost clear very dark red colour. Very small tan head. A little roasted flavour, mild sweetness, berrylike. Clean bitterness, slightly grassy.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW. Clear, red-brown pour with a foamy head. Bready malts, pine and grass on the nose. Fairly sweet, hints of bread and caramel, earthy bitterness. Medium in body with oddly ringly carbonation. Dirty hop finish, earth and pine, some mild sugar. Not bad.

Cask@The Clarence, New Brighton. Clear golden looks with a thin white head. Some grassy hop and citrus in the nose and flavour. Clean, crisp and easy drinking. Nicely lingering bitter finish. An above average and sessionable golden ale.

Bottle from The Inn Beer Shop, Southport. Clear bronze pour with a smallish but lingering off white head. Sweet malt aroma with some vague fruit and a hint of booze, with the taste being a similar yarn. Dryish bitter finish. Certainly a drinkable brew not without some character. As half decent Wirral bottled beer is a real rarity I would certainly drink it again if I could only find it more locally than Southport.
