Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 7/12/10. Reddish amber in colour with a decent, off-white head. Fruity malt aroma with a hint of spice. Red fruit flavours, with some earthy malts and decent bitter finish. Ok. Re-rate at the brewery tap, the Rising Sun, Frampton Cotterell, South Gloucestershire 31/12/10. Mahogany on this occasion, with a decent off-white head. Sweet aroma of caramel, nuts and berry fruit. Flavour was also sweet, with plenty of fruit and a slight roasted edge, before a decent bitter finish. Very different and better from the first pint sampled, did JDW (not for the first time) mix up the pump clips?

Bottle from Vale Brewery Shop, Brill, Bucks, 29-07-10 Pours gold decent clarity, white a clean head. The nose is sweet & malty with some citrus. The flavour was predominantly toffee but with a little fruit notably citrus, malts and a little too much boiled sweety flavour for me. A6 A4 T5 P3 Ov11 2.9

Gravity, Cask at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks’ 16-11-09 Pours chestnut in colour with a loose filmy off-white head. There is mainly malt and a slight creamy sweetness on the nose. Quite full bodied beer with solid malty backbone, hops not quite as zappy as I expected, touch fruity. pleasant stuff. A6 A4 F7 P3 Ov14 3.4

Cask-conditioned at the Victoria, Clifton, Bristol 12/09/09. Now at 3.8% ABV. Pale amber with a decent, off-white head. Sweetish aroma, with some apricot and grassy hop. Flavour was the same, ending with a lingering bitter finish. Drinkable.

(Cask at GBBF, London Earl’s Court, 5 Aug 2009) Golden colour with foamy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of peaches, citrus and honey. Malty, fruity taste with dried fruit, biscuits and honey. Below medium body, fairly sweet. Some lemony, floral hops in the finish. Clean and refreshing, hardly exciting.

Cask@GBBF2009. Deep golden colour, not much head. Aroma is pineapple, mango, some wooden notes as well as mild nectary notes. Flavour is quite much the same with focus on wooden and sweet nectary fruity notes.

Cask@GBBF 2009. Deep golden-amber color, small white head. Dishwater, iron, a bit diacetylic caramelly aroma. Nutty flavor with some pale malts and caramel in the background. Dry, woody aftertaste.
