Bottle from RHS shop. Low key musty apple skin aroma, some blossom. A hazy light gold. No head. Medium sour. Develops a smoother sweeter edge into the finish, before the sourness rears its head again. Light bodied. Oily but benefits from soft carbonation. Long dry finish. Fair enough. It’s a cider. Could do with less sourness at the end.

Box @ Stable, Birmingham. Pours a murky dull brown, strong toffee aroma. Taste is dominated by toffee syrup, generally clean, although couldn’t detect the sourness others picked up on.

Bottle in bag at Prince of Wales, Farnborough. Before I’d had any both the barmaid and two guys at the bar asked what I thought of it, which was a clue that something was up. Sugary toffee aroma, with apple undertones. An opaque toffee brown. So far it ties in with it’s name. The taste then hits you. There is some sweetness hidden in there but it’s overwhelmingly tart. Really sour. Light bodied. Oily. I can understand why people commented on it. However I was fine with the unexpected tartness. Was it supposed to be like this though?
