Cask stillage at the Solihull CAMRA festival 2014. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is yeast, light malt citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet with a yeasty malt hop bitter palate and lingering bitter finish. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. I got the feeling that the cask was coming to the end of its life.

Another year and another ’Series’ of monthly specials from Holden’s. I had a hand-pulled pint of this outside The Robin Hood in Ironbridge on 17th May 2014 overlooking the River severn, lovely. The beer poured a golden colour with a good off-white head of rich foam. The beer is a pleasant blend of fruitiness and hop bitterness: a typical Holdens beer in fact, meaning it’s fine yet without exciting your senses too greatly.

Cask @ The White Swan, Hebden Bridge. Copper with a thin head. Has a very sweet berry character that’s very stated in its aroma. Comes with a bitterness to its taste.
