Vi brygger årets juleøl ("Julebrun på Holmen"), og da er ratingarbeid en naturlig del av bryggeprosessen: klar gylden med kort skum. Deilig duft og smak av engelske ciderepler, kanel, litt lær og behagelige tanniner. God fylde og lang, akkurat passe syrligsøt ettersmak.

Bottle shared with JMD at HNB 22.09.18. Clear golden. Not much head. Fine aroma and taste orchard apples, apple zest, sulpur and leather. Slightly astringent mouthfeel.

Endelig mandag igjen, og vi er klar for kveldens andre (og siste) cider her på Cardinal (sept-18): klar lys gylden uten skum. Søtlige epletoner og hint av kanel. Fin fruktsyre, blir ikke for søt. Svært lettdrikkelig.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 17.09.18. Clear golden. No head. Aroma of red apples, cider apples and sulphites. Sweet and medium bitter taste of red apples and cider apples. Well balanced.

500 ml bottle, as Orchard Pig Vintage Hog Father, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 7.4%. Golden colour, pours moderately sparkling with a shortlived white head. Distinct aroma of cider apples, oak and sulphites, hints of leather. Rich and medium sweet flavour of cider apples and dessert apples, hints of oak and sulphites. A very good cider.

500 ml clear bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6%. Clear and deep golden colour. Pours sparkling with a shortlived white head. Pleasant aroma of cider apples, hints of oak and sulphites. Medium sweet flavour of cider apples and dessert apples, moderate tannins, moderate sulphites.

Bottle from B&M, Manchester. Golden, mildly carbonated cider. Dry, understated with its apple, although still strong tasting. Apple is best in its aroma.

Bottle at a friends. Pours clear golden, nose is toffee, earthy, apple, taste is sweet, crisp apple, toffee.

Bottle at the inlaws, 28/04/18. Clear light golden with a fast collapsing head of white bunbles. Nose is sharp apple, light funk, grains, earthy. Taste comprises ripe apple, Orchard wood, smoked straw, hay bale, light wood must. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Ok cider but expected more from a high boost offering from these guys.
