Description
2012 we started with a Sheffield pub the Fox & Duck in Broomhill and followed this in 2014 with the Doctor’s Orders on Glossop Rd. We’d always had a love for cask across the pubs and whilst on holiday having the odd shandy came up with the brilliant idea of opening a microbrewery and serving our own quality ales.

Late 2015 we found a unit in the Kelham area where we knew the water was good and immediately felt at home. Cold Room built, drainage plinth sorted, Dave Porter supplied and fitted the kit – we started our adventures in brewing beer.

As per plan within a short period of time we took on an experienced brewer. This was followed by us taking on a full time sales and delivery person. We’ve continued to grow the business with new processes, new kit, more people, new recipes and now have a stable 10BBL plant with a great team.

With great folk working for us at the brewery we continue to learn everyday. We’re passionate about making beer and try to retain the home brew spirit of experimentation and fun. We really appreciate the feedback we’re getting from our growing customer base and looking forward to a return to growth over 2021.

Can at ash's. Pours deep brown, nose is chocolate, nutty, raisin, taste is sweet toffee, liquorice, roasted.

Can from the brewery online shop. Appearance - deep brown to black and opaque. Nose - coconut, chocolate and light raisin. Taste - yep, chocolate and raisin. Light tang at the end. Palate - light bodied, a wee bit thin with a light tang on the finish. Overall - a wee bit thin, but still quite nice.

16/10/2021. Can from Arcade Street Tavern, Ipswich. Pours dark brown with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma of milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, roasted malt, sugar, dried fruits, touch of berry. Medium sweetness and light roasted bitterness. Quite watery. Soft carbonation. Nice, just lacked some body.

Can from the brewery online shop. Appearance - cloudy golden yellow. Snow white head. Nose - citrus, pine and light tropical. Taste - lemon or grapefruit, going into melon and pineapple. Light pine/resin note but not too intrusive. Palate - light bodied, fairly balanced bitterness. Overall - pleasant enough!

Can from the brewery online shop. Appearance - cloudy yellow and the head is white, big and fluffy. Nose - lemon, lemon zest and lemon balm. Bay leaf even. Taste - lemon and orange. Zest and herbs again. Palate - light bodied, refreshing bitterness. Overall - yep, good.

Can from the brewery online shop. Appearance - hazy golden brown. Fluffy snow white head. Nose - dank apricot and a hint of chutney. Taste - overripe melon and mango skin. Palate - medium bodied and tangy. Dryish finish. Overall - good.

Cask-conditioned at the Church Inn, Chelmorton 25 September 2021. Pale gold in colour, with a frothy, white, head. Grassy hops, pineapple and grapefruit notes, light maltiness, and a whiff off pine before a dryish finish. Enjoyable.

Can from the brewery online shop. Appearance - deep brown to black. Beige crema head. Nose - nutty and light maple sweetness. Dark chocolate. Taste - dark chocolate and sweet maple, almost raisin and an edge or pancake and nuttiness. Palate - medium bodied, creamy and roasty. Perhaps just needs a touch more body. Overall - very nice.
