Description
To create new and unique beer styles that challenge people's perception of beer. In short: to create true Craft Beers.

The Brew By Numbers range features a handy naming convention, where the first number refers to the beer's style and the second number refers to the beer's recipe.

Initially a small scale brewer who first brewed in October 2012 based on Southwark Bridge Road, London. Moved to their current location, where a 10BBL plant is used, in June 2013.

Moved to a much larger site in Greenwich in 2021 running down the Bermondsey operation and closing it within a couple of years.

Draught @ SKAAL Sønderborg. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy tan head. Clear aroma of dark chocolate, with touches of malt and yeast. Bitter, roasty flavour with sweetish notes of yeast, malt, caramel and lactose, as well as touches of liquorice and fruit. Bitter, roasty aftertaste with peaty hints. Good stuff.

440ml can. Opalescent, yellow-ish, golden colour with average, frothy, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Sweet-ish, fruity hoppy and minimally spicy, pale malty aroma, notes of apricot, peach, nectarine, some apple. Taste is dry, fruity hoppy and sweet-ish, pale malty, minimally diluted notes of apricot, nectarine, peach, hints of apple; mineral and slightly grassy finish. Oily-watery texture, smooth and soft, simultaneously dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Very clean, fruity, refreshing - respectable.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from M&S HC. Pours hazed orange-gold with a small, foamy white head. Medium sweet with a little flinty minerality, semi-ripe tangerine, pale bread, faint vinyl, low bitterness. Medium bodied with small, massaging carbonation. Finishes with more mellow citrus fruits, touch of strawberry, melon, peach. Not bad.

(Draught at BrewDog Camden, London, 18 May 2023) Hazy pale yellow colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, spicy nose with notes of citrus, bread, herbs and a touch of yeast. Fruity, herbal taste with white bread, hay, citrus and a gentle herbal/grassy bitterness. Light body, quite dry. A bit thin, but tasty and refreshing. Nice one.
