Can at home picked up from Sainsbury's .A jet black coloured pour with a lively mid tan head. Aroma is bitter char roast, some ashy roast, roasted barlet, earth. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, dry earthy roast, bitter char, spicy pepper notes, robust rustic roast, green pepper. Palate is dry, little abrasive, prickly carbonation. Robust but lacks a little refinement.

Can from M&S. It pours lightly hazy golden - blonde with a a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is soft, juicy, fruity, melon, green banana, pineapple, strawberry mousse and a splash of lemonade. The taste is crispy, dryish, quite sweet actually, sugary, rather fruity, strawberry mousse, fruit smoothie, melon, apricot, lemon parfait, sponge cake, biscuit and a nip of alcohol with a dryish finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. This is too sweet for the style imo. Some nice hop character, but sits a bit heavy.

Draught at Skaal Sønderborg. Good deeply roasted malt note. Black colour, seems unclear. Unstable light brown head. The flavour is roasted with a deep roasted maltiness like the aroma. Mild sweetness in the finish balances it off. Good mouthfeel. I taste liquorice and perhaps lactose, but no orange or cinnamon. Still great.

Draught @ SKAAL Sønderborg. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy tan head. Clear aroma of dark chocolate, with touches of malt and yeast. Bitter, roasty flavour with sweetish notes of yeast, malt, caramel and lactose, as well as touches of liquorice and fruit. Bitter, roasty aftertaste with peaty hints. Good stuff.
