From cask. Pours clear and golden yellow to orange with a small white head. Aroma is crisp hoppy and mild fruity. Crisp citrusy and hoppy. Bitter, citrusy and crisp bitter and fruity into the finish.

Cask@Market Porter, London. Yellowish golden colour, small slightly off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts, some citrus fruits, mild grass as well as some slight earthyness. Flavour is citrus, grass, some malts as well as mild honey. Pleasant and quite balanced folden ale.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 30/6/2011. Dark brown with a slight tan head. Floral hop and caramel aroma. Sweetish, chocolate and toffee flavour with a contrasting and pleasant bitter finish. Good.

Bottle 500ml.Clear medium amber orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, caramel, toffee, hay - grass, light to moderate hoppy, grass - hay. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Cask at the Cross Keys, JDW. Pours a slightly murky brown with an off-white, foam head. Faint toast malts in the nose, some ripe fruit perhaps. Medium sweet flavor, dry, rich toast with Nutella maybe. Hints of yeast and nuts. Light caramel and some butter. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Dryish finish, some brown sugar, earthy bitterness, bread, light grass. An interesting beer, seems a bit conflicted, maybe suffering a crisis of identity, but not altogether bad.

JDW Fest. Clear gold beer, residual white head. Smooth palate, very light carbonation. Semi dry. Medium straight malt supports (for a UK beer) some hop depth. Sweetish orange marmalade with a trace of peach. Dry finish with a mildly bitter aftertaste. Overall quite a sweetish beer, a little carbonation would have gone a long way here!

Cask handpull at Monks Retreat Reading JDW. The last of the beer festival beers for me. Gold with a slight haze and a thin cream head. Some yeast character on aroma. sOme malt in mouth. Touch of earthy hop on the finish. Its a touch dull. Touch of fruit salad in mouth.
